So start of summer "fun" league came into it with a 145 avg. first week in set a 150 avg. last fri low game was a 99!!! High was only 115. Practice this week low was 89 "shoot me" high was 113. I have changed nothing but all my shots are ending up with lil to zero hook and when I adjust me feet or where I released I ended up Brooklyn. I'm using a Dv8 BN and Misfit just don't know why my game has been off this week.

Little to no hook out of a BN? Deep clean fast! Either that or you are releasing it differently but that BN hooks some throwing it with no axis rotation.

Either needs a deep cleaning or you are throwing on a much heavier pattern and expecting it to hook more than it should.

It's no hook! I have low low revs my buddy's say its lower then most girls they know. I dont make it hook much never have but it feels like its even less then before like all this happened over night. when I told one of them about my post he said it would not hook at all cuz I'm throwing it to fast. I don't think that's it cuz I was holding at hip and letting my arm swing back and forward on its own just to go slow as I could.

Wow and you've been driving by me on I-75 all week. A ten minute stop and you would have been throwing a decent hook.

Do you clean that BN after every set?

How many games are on it?

It's probably time for at least a deep clean, maybe a whole resurface?

Let's see I got it in Feb this year we bowl 3 games at league and 3-10 practice games a week as well I wipe the ball after every shot and use ball energizer cleaner after we get done.

If you got it in February, it's probably time for a deep cleaning.

I wouldnt worry about a deep clean. work on getting the ball off your thumb while following through with your fingers

Open up a curtain and lay the ball in a sunny spot on the floor. If it gets greasy after about 10 minutes yeah you have a ton of oil in there. DV8s soak up oil like crazy. My version of a deep cleaning involves a hair dryer and a styrofoam ice chest. Heat it up in there then wipe off the oil with a towel with plain ol' alcohol.

I second the hair dryer method. It gets oil off fast, but if the ball already has too much oil in the coverstock, you may need to do a method to get the fresh oil off, then a deep cleaning to get the rest out.

Wow would the ball really get to that point of not doing anything and throwing off my game that fast? I sat them in my garage the other day cuz it's always hot in there in the summer but we got a cool front "thank god" come in and it's been super nice in there :/ ha ha ha

How is your release? Is your thumb exiting the thumb hole before your fingers?

Yes I get it out first I can feel the ball coming off my finger tips I just don't get the reaction you would think I should be getting I guess it's back to the coach :/ I do the nerf football under hand toss weekly as well ;(

possibly extreme carry down? Either way you really have nothing to lose by trying a deep clean whether giving it a bath or hot hair method

Don't think carry down as I shot bad fri night fresh oil. And sat afternoon with oil being last applied fri night for league the. You have glow bowl then sat morning free bowling every inch should be brunt up way way before then.

I'd have to go with what the others have said about
doing a deep cleaning on the ball or even have your
Pro shop operator or if you have your own ball spinner
do a full re-surface on it.

You said that you got it back in February well lets see
that is 4 months ago and with 3 games a week in league
that makes 48 league games on it.

Then with say only 3 practice games a week not counting
that it may be up to 10 practice games that is another 48
games on it at least so at the minimum it is 96 games on it
and possibly it has up to 208 games on it over the 4 month
time frame.

So yeah I'd have to say at least a deep cleaning is in order
but a re-surface should restore the hook as the factory says
a ball should be re-surfaced every 60 games or there abouts.

I agree...my pro shop guy says to clean the ball immediately after each bowling session, then after 50-100 games it will need deep clean and/or resurface depending on the lane conditions and reaction of ball surface.

I think the ball is dead....I saw this happen to a friend of mine in the middle of a league series, two games thrown nice, then boom. We thought it was carry down, but a change of balls told her otherwise. If I hadn't seen it during the games, I would not have believed it could happen that fast.

Well now I guess I'll be seeing my pro shop

I just bought my wife a new ball and with it I got a free rejuv. for my Brutal nightmare. Needless to say, it was in there for a few hours and was still leaking oil. I also deep bath it and use a blow drier at the house, it just doesn't get as deep as the pro shops. So yeah, clean your balls after every use (Giggady) specially if the lanes are super wet (Giggadyx2).

Well I dropped it off at my pro shop today and he said its not as bad as he thought but still needs done. What he did see is that I'm throwing straight up the back and that's why I got no hook he showed me a hand position to use and my inserts where rubbed down from how I was trying to get the ball to move so ya free new inserts and ya
