What bowling shoes would be a good choice for me? I'm left handed, if that has anything to do with it, just throwing it out there.
And I have a budget of around $100.
Thanks in advance ~ Sam

Save up a bit more and buy some SRT-8's!

Was just looking at Dexters for myself. Have this nagging feeling I should save up and get SST-8s. My biggest problem is I've got pretty big flippers, so anything I've been looking at - size is going to be a challenge.

Are the SRT-8's durable? My last pair lasted me only 6 months.

Wow that's not long at all. The SST8s have replaceable soles and heels on both feet. However, if you drag your toe they are not for you!
What part of the shoe did you wear out?

Mine are about four years old. The shoes themselves still look new. I did ruin the original traction sole before I learned to keep it back from the edge. I have had to replace my favorite S-8 sole, the traction sole again and both heels since then because the velcro wore out from switching from left-handed to right handed and back every week.

By the way, the replacement soles that I've gotten from my local Pro shop had to be trimmed to fit.

The Dexter website indicates the soles come in a Men's size 15 and have to be trimmed for all other Men's and Women's sizes.

yeah, I believe I drag my feet, I'm not entirely sure, but, on my right foot, sliding foot, on the top of the bottom of the shoe it's worn out. If that didn't make sense, I can post a picture

Could you please? I just got mine a few months ago and LOVE them, probably have 500 games on them and I've changed on the s8 one time (last week) but that's it

Makes sense but that's where most will wear the balance foot, not the slide foot. I wonder how your slide toe is hitting there.

I need a shoe where I can use my entire foot to slide, not just the toe. My slide has to be like 1/4th of an inch atm cause I either put to much weight into my toe or my heel touches and brakes me. It has kind of made me adjust to be more of a planter than a slider.

On the SST-8's can you get an adjustable heel that will actually slide a bit?

Yes you can apply different heels that will slide more/less.

A lot of people say Dexter SST-8's, Anything on the 3G Ultra Tours?

Never use 3G but SST 8 do have heels that are pretty slick. I use the H7 and pretty much have no braking.

I would order a pair from bowlingboard.com great price, and (((The most comfortable shoe I have ever bowled in!!))) Even Kirk wears them in the holodeck, when bowling!

I like the avatar photo. I sure wouldn't mind getting the brutal nightmare. I still plan to get the new endless, but i would get the brutal for a step down. (:

Actually the Brutal would be two steps down. Endless Nightmare, Nightmare, Brutal Nightmare. Of course if you get any revs good luck keeping them on the lane with a THS. I can only use my Revenges and Brutal in tournaments with heavy oil. The Revenge always goes brooklyn on a THS and I still can't get the Brutal past the middle it's so strong.
