Well this will be a first, starting next week! Bowling with my two Newbie to bowling sons! Looking forward to it very much! Are they good enough, having my DNA flowing through their blood to give the old man a run for his money??

How many of you bowl with either your son's or daughter's, ON A LEAGUE, and for how long, any great stories to share about the experience? I am REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to bowling with Pete, and Mike!! They are newbie's but show great potential!!

ON LEAGUE, ever won First place, with your Son's/daughters, as teammates?

Our Monday league is pretty much a "fun" league. Not much money and the league average is 170-180. It will be 25 years before he can bowl my Friday Morning league (55 and over(

A number of years ago I bowled with my daughter on a 1/2 year league on Sunday mornings. Was my daughter, my best friend, his daughter and myself. We won the league as my best friend is a 210+ bowler and I was averaging 190+ and our daughters got progressively better as the season went on. We had a blast.

Something you will NEVER forget!!! Don't bowl with them anymore??? Did they give trophies for your win, or money! I think a league like that it would be cool, to have a trophy with FIRST PLACE on it along with your daughters and friends names! Bowling is not about money to me,,, its about the sport, and the memories I am creating with family, and good friends!! Something to look back on as time moves on by, THAT WAS SPECIAL!! (:)

When I FIRST STARTED bowling 4 years ago, the first league and only league I bowled on was a seniors league! Iceman was 61 then! I then bowled again the following year, it was unsanctioned, and a lot of fun! Last year on that league my wife held every category on the achievements, and I held all the categories for the men! I have it framed hanging next to the Fireplace! Doubt that happens very often?
Anyway my health got better and better then I decided to go sanction leagues, and glad I did, or the 300 would not have count... LOL I am going to miss that league, but I am bowling 3 leagues this fall, and 4 would be a bit much!!

I've bowled in a league with my dad for 4 seasons, this will be our 5th. My wife and his girlfriend will be joining us this year, but only as reserves, so I don't know if we'll get to play all 4 together. I'm looking forward to it anyway.

Our team was first place in the "D" division last year and will be playing in the "C" division this year. We've also won a few doubles tournaments (but not as many as we should have :))

Sounds like you and your dad are close!! (:) Also sounds like you make a GREAT TEAM! Good luck wilth the C division,,, sounds like your going in the right direction (:) I like doubles leagues and tournaments! Some of my best scores have been on that format. I think it has a lot to do with the oil not getting so rearranged!

No, I don't bowl with them anymore as I had to move to Tampa (from Chicago) due to job issues. My kids still live in the Chicago area so I don't get to see them as often as I like. And it's probably been 30 years since I've been on a league that's given out trophies. Most people want more money and not a trophy.

I think trophy leagues have a place also. I know the seniors league I started out bowling on almost 4 years ago, was all trophies and award trophies! I think if more bowled for awards, maybe the price of bowling a league would come down. I know on that Seniors league, we paid, (and the price is still the same), $7.25 for 3 games! We even had a banquet at the end of the season when awards were given out. Maybe this should be another thread....

Too bad about you job, and being away from your kids

I have bowled with both son and daughter in leagues and in tournaments. Can proudly say have won doubles scratch and handicap with my daughter in our local Championship Tournament a couple of times. Placed in doubles with my son at our State Tournament. Never play favorites. We, my husband and I, bowl weekly with our daughter and our son is on the roster. Family team, sometimes a lot of fun and sometimes a lot of stress!! This is a tradition we have continued as I bowled with my mother in tournaments and leagues and my husband bowled with his father. Our oldest some bowled for awhile, but his work schedule prohibits his continuing. It's nice we have something to do together, share in accomplishments and have some fun!

WONDERFUL thing about bowling, if you have a reasonable amount of good health, Old, middle age, and young can enjoy it together!! You seem to have a wonderful family that bowls together!!

The one thing that I hate to see, in bowling is people getting to up tight about winning! It's all about having FUN! Shure, its Great to win, but the most important thing is GOOD BONDING, and fellowship with loved one's, and fellow bowlers!!

If I am having a less then stellar day, my wife does not give me grief,,LOL,,, she cheer's me up!! I am the same with her!! We all have our good, bad, and ugly days, hey,,,, its the nature of the beast!!

Just finished up a summer league with my youngest daughter. Was a good learning experience for her and now she is branching out on her own! She has decided that she is ready to bowl on her own youth league starting next Saturday.

My little go-getter has already went out and got herself a few friends who have agreed to be on her team...now if we can just convince the parents that it is a good investment....
