I moved away from the spot I was standing so fast at recent gig that my friend was playing as to be sure not to get injured by some drunken idiots trying to Mosh.

Back in the day I would have just kept an eye on them but now I love bowling so much that all I could think was, "One of those damn fools is gonna step on my foot and I won't be able to bowl. Eff this I'm outta here!"

What is something silly, stupid, or a little crazy that you've done for the love of bowling?

Hmmm...like bowling on Shabbos? Bringing my ex wife's Pomerainian with me? Pulling a gun on somebody who's foot was over the line?

None of those things. But I did practice last Friday while dealing with kidney stones. Wasnt too bad...a little Vicadin beforehand...bowled some...it didn't start hurting again until early the next morning. The doctor said they only hurt when they're moving. Fortunately, my kidney stone was courteous and stayed still while I got in a handfull of practice games. :D

How about bowling for 7 years with an orthotic boot.cast on my right foot (BTW I averaged 185 wearing the boot)

I do the same thing in making sure I don't hurt or over stress my bowling hand. This week though, I burned my pinky while ironing my shirt for work on Monday. Luckily I tuck my pinky so the tip of it which has a nice blister on it won't touch the ball any way.

Many other times I have done things a bit more gingerly to be sure I am not affected for bowling night.

That is a little crazy! ;)

How were your scores? I bet the Vicodin helped!!

433 Series: 113-145-175
then
412 Series: 119-122-171
then
a 156 game.

The 171 could have been much better...had a LOT of 10-pin spares that I missed in that game. I didn't really notice much with the Vicadin. Everyone tells me horror stories of how it makes them loopy and drowsy...nothin. Maybe it was a low dose or they just gave me a placebo, who knows.

I'm not certain this qualifies as crazy, but I can often be seen walking across the street making hand/arm motions which may or may not look like bowling releases. Particularly on bowl days. (It's been a long time since I've posted on this forum... but I'm still playing... so I figure I'm still welcome. Hi.)

I only found my love for the sport earlier this year. I switched hands in August so I could still bowl pain free despite a compressed nerve in my back.

So my scores are low now - they're going to get better :)

Bowling is always a good stress reliever. Even I'm not doing so hot, still calms me down.

My new love though is bowling two-handed. (Bowled a 189 game today)

Well said! It really is a love.

I'm glad you are now able to bowl pain free. :)

It's what I had to do to bowl. I sat out a year and the wound had not yet healed so i adjusted my approach to bowl with the boot. The foor eventually took 3 srgeries to get it healed. It's the same foot that has had me out for 10 months now

Let's see..I've bowled with a broken wrist parts of three different seasons. Ruptured bursa sac in my elbow. Broken finger. All ball hand. But the best was when I bowled 14 months while blind. Taught myself to crank and averaged 195 during that time.

Wow, you're a beast! I wouldn't have bowled with a broken wrist. My loved ones wouldn't have let me haha

something doesn't add up here Bill?? I went to bowling awards com, like I do on many occasions to check up on Jason, THE REAL DEAL Jason! with 5 sanctioned 300, and now two 800s! But Bill they must have made a huge mistake, It has your name, Bill H Freitas, Sidney Oh, and your ID #1901-2857, also that you are a bronze coach, but NO 300's, no 800s, and your average for the last 6 years around 167???????

If I were you I would call them, they have a phone number, and email address to fix this error! Wow,,, I would be UPSET, if they messed my averages up that bad!!!

Hard to tell. It's the "I bowled for 14 months while blind" part that has me confused!

Its all made up!! All you have to do is go to the tread I have included below and , it has EVERY AVERAGE, and League you have ever been on that is Sanctioned! It also has ALL OF YOUR AWARDS,,,, 11 consecutive strikes, 300s, 800s and the coveted 900!! IT's all there for everyone to see, Even Iceman..... only mine is Michael Pence, Kansas city Mo. It shows my 300 game... lol.... Remember I just got into bowling a couple years ago... but ITS ALL THERE EVERY LEAUGE, and average you have ever had!!!

When Bill said that he ended his summer leages, with nothing but 800s I had to see for my own two eyes.... and I was blow away seeing his true aveage,, 167 I believe? I don't get it,,, why make up things???

to check anyone out simply go to http://classic.bowl.com/awards/award_details.jsp?award_id=15 type in the persons first and last name, and zip code or State? That simple

I don't know why someone gets a kick out of making up imaginary averages, games, and scores. But It's no different here then anywhere else I guess. Most bowlers are honest good people, that what to share the expediencies of bowling with others that feel the same way.

The Thread Me vs Michael, always had our scores posted, and it was a hell of a lot of fun! Lots of imaginary stuff, Jason and me would make up, but one thing that was always TRUE was our SCORES! I always took pictures of the results, and some times made copies of the sheets that the management would give us!

It's sad when people make up crazy high scores, and series, to inflate their ego. But I fear SOME do on this site! I know of one for sure, and he is a God on this web site...
I am done with this subject matter, just know, (( If it sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE,,, 99 percent of the time IT IS!! LOL)))

OK..... I got that off MY chest!!

PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!

HELLO,, Bunny,,, ITS all make believe,,, the records are ALL POSTED!! I gave you the website that anyone can go to, check it out? It's cool because you can keep track of your bowling history from the very beginning, or at least many years back... not sure when they started posting it on line.

I am beginning to take the bragging stuff on here with a grain of salt! Bill does give some great advise, even thow his accomplishments are way over blown, as can be verified on line. If I do anything great in the way of a score, as I have said, I post a picture of the monitor, or copy of the sheet! Trust, but Verify! LOL

I don't think Bill is the only one, but then like I said, Bill is knowledgeable, even if his average is NOT 228! lol He is a Bronze level coach, I know that for a fact, its just his average is 167, not 228!

Thank you Michael! I agree with you.

It's the people who sandbag so they can win a hokey a trophy three seasons in a row, or even worse so they can dishonestly win money that bother me.
