I was chatting with the desk guy last night after rolling a couple of games. I mentioned that I really got my spare practice in and I wish I could have strung more strikes together. (I had one double, whoop-de-do-dah.)

He gave the pretty standard answer, "Spare shooting is really important. Leagues and tournaments wins or losses usually come because of that ONE missed spare."

"I know, I know, but it would be nice to have more strikes along with picking up my spares!" I replied.


He answered, "You know, all it takes is a double along with picking up your spares for big scores."


Wait. What? So there's hope! That seems totally do-able! :D

That's what I mean. I feel like a weight has been lifted.

I know how to keep score but I guess I haven't put much thought into it especially with it being automatic nowadays.

I thought I had to string like 5-6 strikes together for a 200+ score.

While this is true...don't forget. All spares with 9 counts would be a 190 as well. Spares count! Wish I could get more of mine...my goal for the month!

Bowled a 196 second game. 2 opens with a 4 bagger.

I'm definately more relaxed yet a little more focused on how to score "better." (If that makes any sense.)

Witnessed it!! It was great!! I believe Bunny has now moved from 2nd to 1st in the standings as to the females bowlers in our league. She was barely behind a lady, but that team looked like they didn't have the greatest night last night and Bunny tore it up!! PROPS!

Thanks!! And we are talking about a lady who drops the ball at the line and it takes forever to get to the pins. The pins literally just fall over. I don't know how the hell she gets any kind of higher score. :confused:

Yeah...I was watching them last night. Of the 4 women on those lanes to our left...the only one that was decent was the married one with the tremendous rack. And I mean tremendous.

The other 3 looked like they needed the alley to put bumpers up. The lady that supposedly has the highest average...you don't need to put tape on her ball and slow motion camera to count her rev rate....you could literally count as the finger holes slowly moved around. I think her game is hitting the head pin and accuracy with spares. Same as what Babs was doing last night. Hit the head pin, not a lot of pin carry, pick up the spare. You have the advantage of being able to strike more...and you're the only lady I saw in the entire league that has that ability. You combine your ability to throw 4-5 strikes with her precision and spare shooting...you're a 195 average easy...probably higher.

It was awesome watching you, and Babs, and Buddy these last couple weeks. Your game has been so consistently solid. Babs this week I think was the most precise bowler in the league. She isn't going to strike at 14.2mph with virtually no revs and her left-right release...but SO precise. She had a clean game through SEVEN last night. I was in awe. Usually I'm in awe because she's INCREDIBLY hot...but thats another story... And it's cool to see her contrast with Bud's style. He's ultra high rev...amazing strikeability...but very uncontrollable...not very precise with spares. The two of them are exact mirror images in terms of their styles...yet I've seen them both throw 150-160...and Buddy drop an occasional 190-200. Really fun to watch.

And since my game has been so "unfun" to watch...I've had a lot of time to be a spectator. :confused:

Seriously though, we have the best time. Right? I think that's why every team last season had at least one player with a lifetime high game against us. We bring out the best in people. :)

Let's talk about Babs' style. It's C-razy. I swear the ball does an "S" shape to the pins. She has done a great job of adjusting to that crazy roll. I would love to hear what a pro would say about her release.

Buddy is a total riot! That dude rocks!! Now, if we could just get him to throw a straight spare ball. He'd be in the mid 200's all the time. He was super bummed last night.

I just want everyone to have a good time and roll their best. :cool:

I mean...seriously...if ANYONE...inside the league, on the internet...at the grocery store...pretty much ANY venue wants to refer to me as "that guy bowling next to us with the amazing a**...I ain't fightin ya. Heck...you can put it on a t-shirt if ya want. Start a fan club. And if someone asks, "why are you a fan?"....I don't want to hear ONE person say, "he's interesting and smart and has a good grasp of international politics." Nope....that gets ya kicked out of the fan club. The only acceptable answer is, "The dude is hot as a mutha********** yo!!"

Women confuse me (captain obvious). They spend $400 on beauty products...and 2 hours getting "ready to go out"...and when out on the town often wear shoes (heels) that are pretty much designed to cripple a human over time....yet if I say, "Dang...you're hot." I get a "look" like I'm that Geico caveman about to grab her by the hair and pull her back to my cave. Geez...if ya don't want us to notice....wear sweatpants and don't shower. I mean, it's not a "guarantee" I won't still hit on ya... :rolleyes:

Without thinking, I quickly said "Ahh... Nice shot, bad rack!" (Meaning the rack laid the pins down offset) Then I thought twice about what I said and couldn't believe it LOL

I don't remember that as a "compliment". I think you asked if I rode a bike...and I said yes (thinking you meant a motorcycle)...then you explained it was a "bicycle" and I said, "not really, but I run alot, did martial arts for while, played football in high school, and hockey most of my life and I've always had calves like that mostly from the ice skating." But I don't remember a "well...ya look good. If I wasn't happily married....I'd bang the...." Well...you know what I'm saying. Actually I was kinda self conscious after the comment because I wasn't sure ir it was a "good" or a "yuck".



If you're speaking directly to your guy friends about the way a girl looks, right on. But I think you can compliment the way women looks without it being sexualized. And, speaking as a women I find that much more attractive.

Well...we "can"....but it's not going to be genuine. Example....in college, whenever a pretty girl would walk by my dorm room...me and my buddies would be standing in the hallway and as she walked by I'd say "nice sweater." Lets just say...that line NEVER worked...because she KNOWS I don't give to shakes of an Ostrich tit about her sweater.

Besides...these 2 ladies (or "special lady friends") I referred to. The one with the nice "bowling rack" (thanks JaMau for bailing me)...umm...that probably cost her about $9000. If I spend $9000 on a "bowling rack"...I not only hope that people notice it...I hope they think about it when they get home....for days and days...think nothing except how great of a "bowling rack" I have. Otherwise...I WASTED $9000!!

Second example...she seems like she is quite proud of her appearance. As she should very well one million % be. You "really" think she doesn't want guys to notice? I mean, I don't know...I'm a guy...and an idiot...and she's YOUR friend...I don't know darf. But if it's ME....I want a girl to notice if I put on cologne...if I'm wearing deodorant...if I have on clean socks....if my shirt is tucked in. I WANT POSITIVE FEEDBACK. I have a roll of quarters in my front pocket...NOTICE IT. I WANT A GIRL TO NOTICE IT. Becuase if she notices it...then she's at least "lookin"...and beggars can't be choosers....I'll TAKE it! :cool:

I can actually...remember on ONE hand (no pun intended) how many flat out compliments I've gotten on my appearance. I'm talking unsolicited...not a "you look nice too" obligatory comment. I'm talking one of those walking by a gal and she's impressed and goes out of her way to let you know. It happened twice...once in 1994 and once in 2010. I remember...because it's like finding $20 in a jacket...it doesn't happen very often!!

But remind me of this conversation Thursday...I want to get some quality feminine input on this subject. Maybe I need help in figuring out how to reword "nice cans" into a phrase that is considered more attractive to women. Like, "I noticed you're wearing a thong...I think it goes well with your pants." Or, "I noticed your personality from across the alley and thought I'd come get a closer look." Well...we'll work on it. Right now there appears to be 2-4 eligible ladies at the lanes...so any help on that front from an actual female would be appreciated. ;)

And don't get all "tricky" about being all "wrinkled"...cuz I did not notice that at all and I've stared quite a bit. I think you're just throwing out the "average vibe" so these bowlingboard dudes don't start relentlessly hitting on you. Sorry fellas...she's taken and there's already a line forming for back-ups. : )

Not withstanding the comments above about certain physical attributes...and not to dismiss the importance of picking up spares, but the last time I checked, it is almost impossible to get a 300 bowling spares :-)
