I officially started bowling 9 weeks ago, I'm gonna start posting scores so I can keep track of my progression.

10/29/13 - 200, this is my highest score to date but it was in practice (can't remember the other scores precisely because I was happy to set my new high and it was my first clean game)

10/30/13 - prebowling league night/sanctioned - 130, 149, 189

11/01/13 - practice - 147, 156, 186 (also my birthday, what the hell was I doing bowling alone while the rest of my team is partying in Puerto Vallarta??)

So I just found out our league has all our scores online on a site, its very cool so I'll list my league scores for the previous 8 weeks so that I can really see the progression:

09/06/13 - 110, 86, 103
09/13/13 - 93, 88, 98
09/20/13 - 97, 137, 150 (first week with my own ball and first time ever bowling w/ hook)
09/27/13 - 125, 149, 101
10/04/13 - 122, 144, 145
10/11/13 - 147, 124, 117
10/18/13 - 159, 107, 151
10/25/13 - 125, 139, 104

practice 11/02/13 - pulled my hip somehow at the beginning of game two, would've left if they didn't make me prepay which I did for 6 games (normally I don't pay until I'm done but weekend staff apparently has different rules). Was suffering from a severe limp for most of the session due to the hip, however before the last two games I rested/stretched for a half hour or so which alleviated the pain a lot. I think its mostly due to me trying to work on sliding, and I still don't have it down correctly, I'll ask Mark Baker about it this week when I see him.

120, 123, 109, 131, 160, 197

First practice session I'm recording since my lesson with Mark Baker

11/10/13 - 125, 129, 153, 142, 156

Feeling better, the first couple of practice sessions since my lesson was basically like starting to bowl all over again, Mark change my mechanics, speed, pretty much everything except my release (but due to timing that got screwed up as well). I've been diligent in incorporating everything he taught me however, and it's starting to feel more natural like my old method only better because there should be a much higher ceiling. That said, I'm still having problems getting the ball to hook as much as I would like.

11/11/13 - 131, 154, 139, 139, 149, 129, 116, 125

Felt better, hit a bunch more spares my spare % is WAY up these days, still having trouble finding the pocket consistently and haven't gotten a turkey yet since I made all the changes.

On another note, a cute young girl and her parents and little daughter were bowling next to me. Her father was an old timer league bowler, and he immediately noticed how oily the lanes were (confirming my belief). Also, they started cheering for me after I made some difficult splits, oh and did I mention the daughter was cute? And I got her number (I'm assuming her daughter's father is no longer in the picture) ;)

But I learned what having a distraction (a good distraction, but a distraction nonetheless) does to my concentration lol.

Also, 8 games seems to be too much, the last two games I was only there because of the girl, but my hip/knee/back/wrist were all aching, at one point I couldn't even properly do my approach because there was too much pain. I have been bowling pretty much everyday for the last week, probably too much.

Ok, first practice session I've recorded in a while

12/30/13 - 171, 161, 215, 202

I screwed up in game four, coming off a four bagger I kinda fell apart. That said, quite an improvement and was playing on my league night lanes, the one I struggle with the most. Also added a crossover step to my approach, and rotating (opening I think) my shoulders when the ball is going back in order to add a bit more backswing, results seem to be favorable

Oh yeah, we're battling for the bowling crown of SoCal can't take that title lightly!

I wonder if we can talk the mods into giving the winner a custom title, so instead of "bowler" or "member" it says "King of SoCal"

No…but if you Like the site on Facebook you might be able to get it.

The site can't figure out how to not automatically ban new members…so I doubt they can figure out how to customize a title like that.

Now don't go and get "too good" before out tournament PDW.

Don't worry I still have plenty of poo games left before I can honestly say who do you think you are, I AM

You better not. You have to remember…PDW is on crack a lot of the time…just because a moment is "memorable" doesn't mean it's "cool".

Examples: PDW, WaterBottleGate, the guy who's hand got stuck in the ball and he fell on the lane (Blanchard?), Pro bowlers shoots 100 game!, and the guy that kicked the foul light and broke it.
