Well do to several private complaints now about him And the constant bickering in the threads.

I'll put it to a vote on whether Aslan should be banned.

Just so you know, We did this before for the only person to ever get banned on here (other than spammers).

We'll see how the voting goes and the discussion. If Aslan and everyone can work it out fine.

Otherwise I'll pass it on to the admin and they can decide the final outcome.

I'm leaving it up to the members.

Don't personally see a reason for it. Maybe I haven't posted long enough for him to bother me, or maybe it is because the other BB I'm on is way too relaxed.

I apologize for not posting a response earlier; I wasn't sure what the rules were/are concerning these type of proceedings.

I'll keep this short (not really…you know me)..

But I am sad and disappointed in how things have transpired. I thought I could work it out with the site moderation directly; but the moderation team has decided on this method instead.

I'm also very disappointed to hear that Bowl1820 has gotten a number (7 I believe) of requests by forum members that I be banned. I have only received one PM from site members expressing this sentiment.

I personally feel that if I am to be banned, I should have the right or courtesy to be told what rule I violated…or what my accusers claim…and confront those accusers. I do sincerely regret that if I had said something offensive that I didn't have a chance to apologize for it at the time to the person that was offended. Not knowing the problem existed at the time certainly makes it difficult to handle those types of conflicts.

After finally finding the rules post; I found the following rules that I "think" apply here for your consideration:

Forum Rules

BowlingBoards.com is a friendly, yet strict bowling forum. These rules are in place to protect you, and make the forums fair and fun for everyone here.

RULES:

2. NO Flaming at all by anyone
3. NO arguing too excessively, disagreeing is one thing, but there is a line
4. NO putting anyone down for anything. Questions, posts, ideas, reviews anything

I also would like to point to this statement which precedes the rule;

> We want you to feel like you belong somewhere without the fear of being made fun of, flamed, or put down just because you may ask the same questions other people have asked or one that others believe is simple

> We care about your opinions and listen to every comment and request for this site

I also have requested that if I am to be banned for violating a rule; that said rule violation apply to everyone involved in the recent arguments. It just seems unfair that we would say, "you argue too much, so you're banned…but the guy(s) you're arguing with can stay." All of the rules listed that I "may" have violated were also violated by those that have recently made a habit out of hunting my posts down and mocking me personally. And that behavior I feel has violated the wishes of the site that I feel as I belong, that I am free of being made fun of, free of being flamed, and that the site values my opinion(s).

That being said; I don't support the ban of anyone from the site unless they are guilty of spam, posting pornography, threatening members, or using language that is inappropriate after being warned not to. I have voted no. As I told Bowl1820; I will vote "no" in any of these proceedings no matter who the other party is because I do not agree with banning people based on their popularity or lack there of. I have very different opinions on many things…as we all know…and I have the courage to voice those opinions. I certainly would not want to be party to any action that would send a message to current or future members that having an unpopular opinion or the courage to voice it is grounds for dismissal from the site.

In closing, as this may end up being my last post, I will not urge anyone to vote one way or the other. I think a popularity contest to determine this type of thing is simply wrong. I understand…it's done on a similar website. But I feel it is wrong…whether the decision is "yes" or "no". I would like to offer reasons why you should vote "yes"…or even reasons why I hope to stay…but I am so saddened and disappointed at these proceedings that I just can't think of anything. I'm not a pro or a hall of famer nor an industry insider. So, like everyone else…I have nothing tangible to offer the forum…other than my opinion which apparently isn't welcomed. And I guess it has been tiring to have to deal with the flaming and mocking so maybe at the end of the day a "no" vote would be better. Hard to say right now.

But I thank you for reading this and wish you all Happy Holidays and High Scoring!!

Just to be clear: I've never asked that Aslan be banned, nor have I ever complained to the one active moderator here. I have never flagged any post, much less any one if his, save for one of my own that I requested be deleted.

When I first read this thread I was inclined to vote no, but after reading Aslan's last post it's clear he's just never going to stop this nonsensical tirade of blaming everyone for every thing.

Point in fact: Instead of taking bowl1820's offer to come in here and try to work out whatever problems those complainants might have with him, he instead just asked that they be banned alongside him. That's just... Well, not in any way encouraging to me.

I listened as you said " I believe everyone has a right to their opinion...even if it almost always isn't shared by me" and how your being bullied and mocked and your threads derailed. and you are provoked to retaliate against the bullies.

and how you want me to get everyone to stop bullying you and if I don't listen it must because I dislike you. As I said to you I don't Like or Dislike you.

What I don't like is all the the petty bickering, the stupid remarks and the threads that have turned to garbage because it.

The moderation team (I guess is only me anymore) has been hoping you could work it out with everybody. Now if everyone else agrees thats whats happening, that your the victim in all of this fine we can drop the matter.

No I didn't say "7", I just said several.

You told me "6-7" people are following you from thread to thread attacking you.

Surprisingly I don't think that he should be banned. The only way to deal with this by the folks that don't like him is to not reply to his posts. If you read his posts and are annoyed by them and his remarks just think to yourself you've got to be kidding me and go to the next post. Nobody forces us here to read anyones post. I know in some of his posts that I replied on he has taken some shots at me. So what. As far as I know he has not threatened anyone here. He just has a know-it all attitude. Sometimes I read his posts or replies and think to myself YIKES! and maybe roll my eyes. Everyone here knows what he is like. Maybe you don't like him or maybe you do. Those that don't like him can just avoid his posts. I personnally don't think he should be banned. I find it kind of cruel. We all have feelings and we should look deep on this problem before we make a decision. Just remember that we all have a choice to read or not to read a post.
If you don't like what he is posting go to a post you like or are interested in and make replies there. I have seen posts that he got a good toasting on. I thought it kind of cruel after reading it. I might have made a remark but I don't think it overly cruel. I say let him stay. I personnally will just keep my thoughts about a post to myself and just pick the posts I want to get involved in. THE END.

It's a good idea in fact that's what the "Ignore" button is for, just click on it and his posts disappear.

The "Ignore" function:
Just go to the users profile page, on the left click on "Add to Ignore List"

then click "Yes" on "Are you sure you want to add username to your ignore list?

Poof! the posts are gone.

But Aslan and the others won't do it, they have to look. Then they get mad.

I vote no. While I disagree with Aslan on some things and agree with him on others, replying to the ones I disagree with forces me to think more clearly about the subject.

Who in the Hell is Aslan?? Ban someone for making stupid statements, and comments? If that's a reason to ban someone, then we wouldn't have a government!!

Give me liberty, to say what I want, or give me Another Website to converse on! As long as no one threatens someone’s life or liberty, then a free exchange of thought and ideas should be allowed!

Aslan,,,, O YES I know who this is all about now!!!

He might not be the brightest, maybe even somewhat vulgar thread writer on this site, but god bless his bowling heart, he does the best he can with what was given him, by the lord Jesus Christ,, amen!

Does anyone here watch Reality TV??? This site is tame compared to what ("I hear is on tv for all to hear, and see!")

Anyone watch 2 1/2 men?? I can't believe what I see and hear on NATIONAL TV!

Should Aslan be banned!! NO, and I have never complained about him in private, or on this....... wait,,,, let me check this out.... tic,,,tic,,,, tic,,,,

Maybe I have complained about some of his rude, crude, lumpy, raw, rough, undressed, unfinished, comments, but that doesn’t mean I want him terminated!!
Even men with his (CONDITION ) should be allowed the freedom of speech!
Iceman, with a heavy heart, and maybe much regret votes KNOW!! YOU know what I mean!

Not sure if everybody is supposed to comment here or not, but he and I have had nothing but bowling related discussions, and I haven't seen anything personally that I would consider ban worthy on other forums that I frequent, so I voted No.

Lol....last time I looked being an annoying know-it-all is not a bannable offense :)

I do find it a bit lame though that none of the people voting "yes" took the time to post anything......

[QUOTE=bowl1820;96722]I listened as you said " I believe everyone has a right to their opinion...even if it almost always isn't shared by me" and how your being bullied and mocked and your threads derailed. and you are provoked to retaliate against the bullies.

LOL,,, when you think about it, a forum like this is the BEST place for a victim to have a equal ground, with any bullies!
Their is no physical factor involved, and in most cases it the PHYSICAL that does the most harm,, example: (High school football jock, making fun, of and physically bullying a NERD in gym class,,,, yes those were the day!!) LOL JUST kidding, in fact I was a defender of Nerds, and many of my best friends were almost just like Aslan!

What I have noticed on this site is not even anywhere close to what real BULLYING is all about! Its more like the VERY POPULAR TV SHOW Jerry Stringer Show! People love it!! (I am pretty sure that bowl1820 doesn't watch the Stringer show, but that's because we are refined men of good taste, and proper up bringing. We are both like a James Bond type persona!! While Aslan is more like Sponge Bob!! There is room in this world for both types, its what makes America Strong, diversity!

.

What I don't like is all the the petty bickering, the stupid remarks and the threads that have turned to garbage because it
Now I know your don't watch the Jerry Stringer show! LOL But know this,,, its a VERY POPULAR SHOW, and has been on for way too long in my opinion, but then that could be because iceman is a refined, cultured, polished, well-breed, fine example of what a human being can be when properly assembled!

The moderation team (I guess is only me anymore) has been hoping you could work it out with everybody. Now if everyone else agrees thats whats happening, that your the victim in all of this fine we can drop the matter.

Maybe we need another Moderator to work with you? Someone that is at the other end of the spectrum! How much farther could Aslan be then you 1820!! I am with you on his ( I am the victim, everyone is picking on me attitude ) But in his rude, tasteless way he always defends himself)! The victim that has nothing to fear, but words themselves! LOL

There are dozens of Bowling Forms, I really believe that many people love The Bull shirt on this forum! How can I say that??? Look at the Thread Me vs Michael! Well over 45,500 views, bigger then most all the other threads put together.

Its all about conflict, and battle between Old bowler vs Young bowler!

Smooth running Forms, are ONE HUGE YAWN!!! Same old Q and A!! "how do I get more rev's" (:) It's ok to have those boring Q and A's, but a little spice helps the ratings!!

Set Aslan FREE!!! release him and make him a moderator!!! How about a Poll that makes Aslan a moderator!

NO,,,, NO<<< Let's not go that direction yet, I fear his fragile psyche might not be able to handle the rejection, and disappointment! I am not even sure he has the knowledge needed to wipe his ask, much less perform the duties required to keep things on a smooth bases! lol But he has a purpose,,,, I am sure,,, and maybe someone can help me figure out WHAT THAT IS??? lol

Lets have a poll that makes Aslan a MOD on this site!! How many are for this POLL!! How about MOD for a DAY??

Let's let the love pour out.... show this Special middle Aged bowler, that has been seen at Kmart eyeing Old Spice cologne we care!!! Just like those suspenders he now uses to hold his nylon white socks up, lets support this middle aged Californian that is in need of our love!!

Aslan for MOD for a DAY! "The only bowling form that is Fair and Balanced"
