What is your New Years resolution in REGARDS TO BOWLING!!!
mine its the coveted 800!!! Few months ago had that 780, (300, 216, and 264),,, but no gold ring!!!
I-a-gone-a-get-that-puppy-this-year!!!!!!!!
with two 300's this year, within 6 months time, I now will focus, and achieve that much higher goal of 800!
If there is a higher goal in life then achieving a 800, it must be something like landing on the moon, in June, while watching a cartoon!! LOL

To not let my frustration show when I am bowling bad. To take the time to make every shot count. To hit Keglars Cash more.

Ambitious resolutions for a new bowler but...
First 300, league or practice. I would prefer league but I will take what I can get
190+ league average
Compete in first tournament
Own less than 15 balls, that may be tough :-)

I need serious help with what I am doing with my non-slide foot. I sounds so stupid; who needs help with that? But I walk kind of like a duck including when I bowl, so my toe is pointed out and I push off the side of my foot and that foot ends up rotated right. It then is in a trapped position on the approach and remains that way as I bring it behind me. It's killing my right ankle and left hip. A fix of my bowling shoe provided very temporary relief. The only thing that will provide permanent relief is to change my approach. And that is my new years resolution in regards to bowling.

I am going to give my bowling balls the love they deserve! I will try hard to clean, and polish if need be after each, and every use!
There is nothing sadder then neglected balls! I promise from this DAY FORWARD to be kind, and take much better care of them!

that is a GREAT ONE!! Bowling with your son!! I am new to the sport, lol,,, just got started 3 years ago! My oldest son is a newbe to bowling this year!
I talked him into bowling with me on a Monday night league for men! (5 person league) Its a lot of fun watching him do as well as he does.
He has a starting out average of 177, but has had two weeks in a role of 600 plus games! I think he has the bowling bug now! LOL
Each of my 3 boys had a Bowling Birthday this last year, getting Balls, shoes, and bags!
Best money I have ever spent. My middle one will be bowing this summer, on a league, after schools is out, ( he is a teacher)
My youngest just likes to do the Cosmic Bowling, so he got a Zombie ball, with matching bag, and shoes!! LOL
I say youngest, in his 30's, a Police Officer Here in my City.

1) Stop using my right hand to eat with during league play. Greasy foods tend to leave my fingers and thumb a little too slick…ball falls off before I want it to.
2) Concentrate EVERY frame during league play. No more going up, throwing it, then thinking…"aww…I forgot..X" Plan the approach/release while the bowler in front of me is bowling.
3) Every frame clean. 525+ series minimum.
4) Be more of a sycophant and not so disagreeable on bowlingboards.com so everyone will like me. :)
Okay…well, the 4th one I'll only worry about if I've mastered the first 3.

My resolution is to shoot multiple pin spares with my spare ball. Except for the double wood spares.

My New Years resolution would have to be to get the RA in my hands better
so I can get better at bowling and have more practice time.
Good luck with the RA! I was told by 5 RA doctors that I had RA/Lupus! I decided not to go the toxic medication route! Now 7 years later, I have No pain at all at 65!
The body can do remarkable things if you give it what it needs, and do AWAY with the things that cause inflammation!
I am living proof,,,, and I have felt better each and every year since I made the livestyle changes, including exercise, supplements, diet, and drinks,,, (no sugar soda at all)!
If you have a sweet tooth, use STEVIA as much as possible, stary away from aspartame and splenda !
Its not a quick fix, but it is a FIX!!
If you have those toxic so called silver fillings, or even a root canal, I WOULD recommend removing them and having them replaced. I did! And now at 65, bowled two 300 games in a 6 month time period!!
GOOD LUCK!!
PS... also look into the Tri-Grip if you are having RA problems with your hands! It makes the ball feel MUCH lighter, and comfortable in your hand! Read about it on the net.

Figure out exactly how I want to throw the ball.
Settle on what arsenal I need to carry.
Execute the way I picture it in my head.
At least one clean game each week.
That's not asking too much...right?
Mine is to finally land that 300 game. I have came really close with a 288, this year will be the year I land the 300 game :)

LOL,,,, I like that!! Last night our AMF gave out ONE free drink tickets, from Bowlmor/AMF as an appreciation for bowling league at their establishment! All league bowlers got one!
ANY drink you wanted soft drink, beer, or the hard stuff! So far I can't complain about the treatment to league bowlers here in Kansas city..... They have kept their promise to keep the oil fresh and applied properly.
So far I would have to give them 4 stars! I would give them 5, but the new hours suck! (but I do understand, I guess)!

I dont know about your center if you look online at the league rewards we were supposed to get a coupon book at the holidays which we did not get.
We have never had a problem with having fresh oil for league. but if you come in for practice then you are getting scorched conditions they used to come in and run every lane before they opened now they only run the lanes right before league and are only running the lanes that will be used in league.
One of the reasons we are seeing this is because when they drastically cut everyones hours the lead mechanic left to find a better job after his hours were cut to 12 a week.
