So my wife and I have been wanting to play leagues. We basically had a choice between Charleston, SC and Augusta, GA. With Augusta being a tad bit closer (50 mins) and we love going there,(although never bowling there) we chose it. One of the Alleys is doing the Misfit Social Club. Link here:http://www.bowlbrunswick.com/promo/misfit/

We are going on saturday to bowl there to try out the Bowling alley and the other one we are wanting to look at while there. Was wondering if anyone knows how these work and what the cost(s) usually are. This one offers a bowling bag, double bowling bag, or a Bowling Ball and Towel for signups..

Probably like a get a ball league, you come in bowl for a few weeks then you get a ball.

Here's from a earlier post in 2012

Went bowling Sunday at a bowling alley a little farther from me than my normal lanes and seen a flyer for DV8 practice league starting tommorow. It is a 14 week season with options at the end for a dv8 ball. For 12 a week you get a misfit, 14 they said mid range ball and 16 a hellraiser. Also you get 21 free games a week. I'm pretty excited as I haven't bowled in any sort of league since around 99. Plus its just score tracking and not really competitive so it seems good for me transitioning back into the sport. Anyone else have this in their area?

Did some looking heres one from last year someplace.

"This late night league is perfect for those in the restaurant or retail business. Get off work and come bowl.

Choose your swag - DV8 Single bowling bag, DV8 Double bowling bag or DV8 Bowling ball and towel.

We bowl in Cosmic Bowling and the balls glow in the dark - very amazing! You choose the color and weight and we'll custom fit the ball to your hand.

12 Weeks, $12.00 per week, 3 people teams (any combination of men and women.)

Get a t-shirt and backstage pass for free entry into Brunswick After Dark or Slammin Sundays.

Score tracking; no wins or losses!"

To me this looks like an unsanctioned have a ball league. Around here that would go for around 15-18 a night. There is no prize fund. Its just a fun league where you get some "free equipment" meaning the amount that you are paying on a weekly basis that would generally be used for a prize fund will be used to purchase a bag or ball whatever you choose.

ahhh, it sounds interesting, but I dont know if it is somthing I would want to get into or not. We would prefer a normal league, worth playing in :)

Where do you live that Augusta is closer than Charleston but Columbia, SC is not an option?
