Picked up my Freak'N Frantic Saturday. Wanted the ball to go long and snap hard off the pattern.

The proshop guy (awesome by the way) used a Storm Computer program with my PAP, the ball specs, and what pattern I'd be bowling on to spit out this layout (he tweaked that the program said slightly).

From my first few shots, it for sure goes long through the mid part of the lane and finishes HARD and does snap.

This look right to anyone :

He used the Storm Vector Layout System (VLS) then. There's video here about it.

As long as it does what you want then it's okay!

The only thing I might have done different would be tweaked the layout a bit more and put the pin in the middle finger hole and drilled it out since it was that close to the hole.

Unfortunately the VLS version that I've seen doesn't include in it's recommendation how to drill a symmetrical ball with balance hole to control the "drill angle".

The Pin to PSA value from VLS only makes sense on an asymmetrical ball, because the thumb hole pretty much defines the PSA on a symmetrical ball, before a balance hole is added.

A ball driller, with a deTerminator and patience can achieve the Pin to PSA distance that the VLS recommends, if he/she makes a good estimate of where the balance hole should be located.

Are you left or right handed? That looks identical to the layout I have on my First Blood - I am left handed.
