I use Best Bowling on my iphone. It's $4.99 to download, and does just about everything I could ask for.

If you're just wanting to track scores and leagues, BowlingScoreKeeper is simple, powerful (stats) and free.

Good question, I know some folks recommend Pin Pal but the reviews state there is some feature or something in the iOS version that they didn't include in the Android version so I'm waiting until somebody can confirm that for me.

I use PinPal, does everything I need or want. Don't know about difference in iOS vs. Android version. Try emailing the developer, he is responsive to emails.

PinPal

I think it cost me like $.99 or $8.99 or $4.99 or something. I have it on my iPhone. Works great.

I use best bowling free - and no ads - unlimited games - keeps tracking of basically everything i want, pin count - leaves - most strikes etc.

and very easy to use. My gf used it while I was bowling a tourney.

I also use Bowling Stat Master. Easy, visual, charts, tallies opens, strikes, spares, splits, split conversions, etc. I like it but...

I'd like to find one that allowed me to enter house, lane numbers, lane conditions and transition notes (number of straight bowlers, number of power bowlers, etc) to help me remember from week to week, things to notice that make a difference in transition and ball choice.

In PinPal you can use the game details within each game to keep notes. However, it will not recap for you based on the notes keyed into it.

PinPal on android works great for me.

That's good to hear, in reading the Android reviews I just noticed that one person who had switched from a iPhone to Android did not like the Android version in comparison, however he did not post exactly what was missing - plus that review was over a year old I think, so that may have just been the first iteration of the Android version.

Ok for Android folks here is what the developer just emailed me about the differences in the Android version:

"1. There aren't any notes fields where you can write free-form text that is associated with a game or date.

2. There's no quick shortcut to see the stats for a single date of bowling. You can still view these stats, but you have to manually configure a date range on the statistics screen. There IS a shortcut from the league screen to view quickly view the stats for the full league."

So I guess it depends on how important the notes fields are to you

If you are using the iPhone version, and then go to Android, your data does not transfer. I guess I'm stuck w/ the Android forever.

I've been using the pin pal app since beginning of last season (Sep 2012).

Here's my overall stats http://mrbowling300.com/games.jpg

And here's a sub screen, the top leaves: http://mrbowling300.com/leaves.jpg

Except when you forget to enter the strike in the 4th frame, and you notice it in the 10th.

You iced ZDawg big time.

Odd it appears the only editing you did to the video's was when we were waiting for you to dink around with PinPal.

It took you over a minute to get the app started, and then in the middle of the 10th frame of the 3rd game, we waited another 3 minutes while you fixed your mistake.

For some reason, you couldn't throw your count ball, so we wouldn't have to wait, then fix the mistake while we finished our 10th frame.

You have SO many issues!!

Yes. Pinpal DOES have a couple issues.

1) It doesn't allow you to delete or insert frames, so as Mike "sore loser" White mentioned…when you notice you forgot to enter a frame, you have to go back and change every frame manually.

2) You can't delete games. So once you start a game, you're kinda stuck with it.

But other than those two minor inconveniences; it works quite well.

As Mike eluded to, it also works great to "ice" other bowlers and cause them strike then spare, rather than strike out in the 10th. I haven't figured out quite "how" the app has that effect…but it's probably some kind of radio frequency thing. ;)

I used frames on Android the last couple years, but it wouldn't transfer the purchase to my phone when i had to re-install everything... Looking at something new for next season.

So how did it go with My Lane Play? That's what I use, and also what I recommend to others looking for an app on Android.
