What hp and how many speeds does it have? Is the spinner enclosed or open and what brand is it? It looks like a decent one costs around $239.00. They go up from there especially if it comes with a cabinet and foot pedals to operate it. I saw a 1/2hp one but it only has one speed. The two speed one has a slower speed for sanding and a faster speed for polishing. It would be nice to have one of those to do my own surface work. You can try out different surfaces and see what works best for you on the alleys you bowl on. You don't have to wait to go to a pro shop to do it and you save the cost of having it done there.

I have one and love it, I've never heard anyone who has one express regret over the purchase either.

I have had one for about a month now. Works great. Able to clean balls much better now. Also I have already resurfaced my First Blood and polished some of my other stuff up too.
I acquired mine through a trade with a team mate. It's a Donkee brand, 2 speed, I think 3/4 hp.
Have done balls for another team mate already too.

I built mine out of a cheap drill press I had laying around, I think it's a 1/2hp motor. Has 6 speeds (if you move the belt on the pulleys). I have a plastic bin around the cup/bowl that keeps moisture off me and the motor.
Works great for me, I couldn't see dumping $200+ on one myself, but I do love having it and it gets a lot of use.

I have an Innovative Pro Model that I paid $600.00 for in 1998. The motor went out on it last year after doing thousands of balls. When I replaced the motor I replaced it with a 2 speed motor. It is encased in a wooden cabinet I built
