I have bowled one league for the last fifteen years. Next fall season, I am wanting to bowl two ! Thursday nights and adding a Monday afternoon league. Thursday has 26 teams and Monday has 20. For the most part, it is a completely different group of people. I think it would be great fun to bowl with unknown competitors !

At my peak I bowled in 6 leagues, on 5 nights.
Now I'm down to 2.

I'm a League bowler-first-timer and i bowled 2 fall-winter leagues, a men's only league and a mixed league, awesomely cool people in both leagues, no drama or any of bring bad to bowling B.S.
gonna bowl 2 leagues again next season hopefully the same nights wed/thurs. We originally didn't want to bowl thursday and sundays, but the thursday mixed was only one available, so we signed up and never looked back, ended up having cool folks there. Also we were avoiding sundays n mondays and the weekend cuz 2 others and myself love to watch football on those days.
My only regret is having to bowl 2 nights in a row, was hell on my wrist, but after a while my wrist got stronger and toughed it out. Would have been nice to have a 24 hour recovery period, but i just live to bowl i guess.

I've bowled two for quite a few years now, all year round. Monday nights - mixed, 5 man team, a bit more competitive yet lower average teams do well. Friday mornings - mixed, 4 person team, a bit more relaxed - and most of the people are older, lots of fun. This leaves me Wednesdays to practice (time permitting) so I'm not bowling days in a row. I would probably think about one more, if the cost was more reasonable.

I bowl in two....the company league I'm in since 2007-2008 and the city league that I joined at the end of the 2011-2012 season. I don't do any summer leagues or anything because I already have to hear my wife complain enough about the first two leagues :)

I am currently bowling in three winter leagues: Travel League (four man teams rotate among six different centers) Mondays at 12:30, almost scratch Doubles League with my wife at noon on Wednesdays, and almost scratch trios at noon on Thursdays. All are senior leagues. Next year I will probably stick with the same schedule, though I may add a non-senior competitive league at night if I can find a good one that works with my schedule. God, I love retirement!

I currently bowl in 2. Tuesdays with a couple guys on our tournament team (local and Nationals) and Thursday my fun league that I have been bowling in since got back into bowling 7-8 years ago. Would like to add another, but don't think the wife would like and my busy work schedule wouldn't like it either. They already are fine with me leaving early Tuesday and Thursdays.

Two, a more competitive mens' on Tuesday (was sort-of-part time this year, but only missed about 1/4 of the weeks) and a relaxed mixed league on Thursdays. I'd probably ideally like to do another but my fiancee thinks I bowl too much already :) Also, not sure when that would happen. Like Aslan said, lots of other things to do - lucky to get in practice on weekends once or twice a month.

In the past I've only done one, a Tuesday night league. This year I was a sub for whoever needed it in a Mixed Thursday league. Next year I will be full time in both leagues.

Based on these responses….we could really grow the sport of bowling if we stopped having wives.

But sadly then we wouldn't have kids to pass the tradition of bowling onto and would kill it in the long term...

I didn't say "stop having sex"....I said stop having "wives". Offspring don't require their parents to be married. Actually, humans are kinda unique in getting suckered into that arrangement when compared to the rest of the animal kingdom. I'm just saying...bed them...just don't board them. Spread the seed....but maintain your own man cave and require them to leave each day...thus allowing you to bowl in 4-5 leagues a week without hearing the 202 reasons why you're a bad person/father/son/etc... for wanting to get an extra 3-6 hours of enjoyment out of life.
Actually, I hope to "mate" with one of the waitresses at the bowling alley...that way...kill two birds with one stone. Suddenly going to the bowling alley becomes not only a source of enjoyment (bowling) but can be written off as also "spending time with my lady". Thats true utopia right there.

No wonder you dont have a GF with this type of mentality.
So what happens when you split up with the girl you are trying to hook up with at the bowling alley it could get pretty uncomfortable then when you have to go in and bowl leagues.

tcc...you're still young. Get married...put in your 10-15 years...then you'll see. It's an amazing "awakening" when you talk to a young lover and he's talking about his perfect GF that he met bowling and she loves bowling and never gives him any problems about going bowling or hanging out with his buddies....then 8 years later he's a defeated, depressed individual that had to quit bowling and is only allowed to hang out with their "mutual friends" and has a curfew. Kinda like when your GF will "do certain things (intimacy related)...but as soon as that ring goes on the finger....suddenly even hinting at said "certain things" will get a response of disgust as if you're some kind of homeless weirdo asking to wear her undergarments....can't go into detail due to the potential for infraction related penalties...family website and all...but yeah...get in a few years of marriage and then see if your views might change ever so slightly.
Actually yes....thats a good point. It's kinda a Catch22...if things go south...then you gotta find a different center. You don't want spit in your drinks thats for sure. But if it goes well...then you have a lover with mutual interests and convenience....hmmmm. Gonna have to re-think that one.

I bowled in Tuesday and Wednesday men's leagues.
Thursday co-ed with the wife
Friday short season coed with the wife.
after the Friday league ended (just before christmas) we joined a monday night co-ed league
I also subbed in a league that was directly following the Thursday co-ed league (bowled 8-9 times throgh the year)
For summer I am bowling in one equipment league(no prize fund money goes towards pro-shop credit)
next year will probably be less.

Just show her the first page
Just tell her whatever everyone else tells their significant others that read my endless ramblings....that I'm a total *$&^ and nobody likes me so not to worry what he says.
Or take the Christian ministry approach and say I AM the reason you need to join more leagues....to minister of the word of Christ to heathens like Aslan.
Either way...you can swing it. You just gotta get creative.

Lol.....how are those child support payments working out for you? ;)
Hey...if paying child support allows me to live in my own man cave and go bowling without getting yelled at....it's worth it!!
And wait...are you saying having the mother of the child living in your mancave "saves" you from having to pay support? I don't know about Switzerland...but wives in the USA aren't cheap. It's still up for debate whether marrying them saves you money over renting...but I'm guessing the difference isn't a large amount (unless renting leads to an STD...medical costs in the US are backbreaking).
Back in the "good ole days" (if you were white and a male)...the wife also served the role as caregiver, housekeeper, therapist, masseuse, assistant, and cook...so there was more value. Now they work and require you to pay strangers for child care, household chores are supposed to be "shared", you NEED therapy from haivng to put up with them, you give better massages than she does, you need to hire an assistant because her day is too filled up with Starbucks visits, and you'll be lucky to find a woman that can bake cookies much less cook a meal everyday.
