Felt great all night. Ball was coming off my hand well, and I was picking up my spares. G2 I bookended with opens, chopping the 6 of a 6-10 in the 10th. Frustrating, knowing that I could have been another 10-20 pins higher if I picked it up. G3 was clean, finally! finished with 7 in a row, and a brooklyn strike to end!

Well, I have never bowled a 700 series and today was the day I was sure to get it. Oops, that's what I get for thinking about it! G1 was clean, though I had to pick up a 4-7-9 split. Being right handed helped, as the 4 had just enough to clip the back of the 9 as it fell into the back. G2 only blemish was a missed 10 pin in frame 6. Unfortunately, it was after 3 in a row. But I went 4 in a row, then 9/ to finish 10th. G3 was a doozie. Started with two strikes (okay, I'm thinking I'm doing good), pocket 10pin (got the spare), and then I fell apart. Two more spares, and here is when I started knowing that my 700 was in jeopardy. Trying to calm down, tossed the big 4 in the 6th. 700 gone. left the 1-3-6 in the 7th, missed it. 200 gone. Ah well. Marked out in 8, 9, 10. Such is life!

Some colsolation though, between last game on Tuesday and first two on Thursday, I had a 739. Technically not a 700 series, but at least I know I can do it! Hopefully the bowling gods are still smiling at me for league tonight!

Lanes were very strange tonight. As a team I think we had at least 7 or 8 splits in game 1 and another 6 or so in game 2. Ugly bowling. The 2 lanes played a bit different , which I'm not used to. Left lane was a bit drier than the right. My Reign On was fizzing out and coming in light leaving me the 2-8 on multiple occasions on both lanes. When I adjusted I couldn't find the pocket. Game 2 got better, had 1 open, and a few more strikes. I decided for game 3 that I would use my brand new RotoGrip Uproar. That was the correct decision. This ball is a monster. I only made one mistake with it, missed my mark left and slowed the ball down too much, and left the big four (and picked up the 6-7-10, barely missing the 4). After a slight 1/2 board adjustment left, and increased ball speed, I didn't miss the pocket and finished with a 6 bagger.

Successful night overall. Was a good team night, we swept! Perfect timing for a sweep, and we might have a possibility of finishing top 3 to end this third of the season. This would be best for our team in the 2 years we've been in the leauge!

So I started in practice with nothing but strikes. I was using both balls, different lines, couldn't miss. Didn't think that would last, but game 1 was pretty solid. Only one mistake was a missed 10 pin in the 6th frame. Game 2 started off great, but I was slowly losing my line. Turkey, alternated strike and spare until the 9th when I decided that a ball change was in order. Ooops. Right through the headpin, left the greek church (4-6-7-9-10). I was mad, threw my spare ball down, and guttered. damn. But calmed down and turkeyed the 10th. Game 3, I couldn't find my line at all. but was fairly consistent. Few spares, only 2 strikes, and 2 more splits. Luckily I picked up one, the 6-7-10. Overall above average for the night, so I was a happy camper!

So close to the triplicate score! I needed 6 in a row to end G3, but 9-spared in the 10th.

Spares were a killer tonight. I missed two 10 pins and a rare 2 pin. Only had one non split multi pin spare attempt, the 1-2-5, and didn't get any drive on the ball and got just the 1-5. I made a ball change halfway through game 2, from my Reign On to the Uproar. First ball was a tad slow, and I came in heavy, left the 3-4-6-10. overcompensated for the next frame and left the previously mentioned spare chance. Found my mark in the 8th and struck out 9 and 10. Game 3 had half of my opens and not quite enough strikes.

I'm really digging my new Uproar. It reads the lanes so well. Slides through the top, revvs up just right, and barrels through the pocket. Monster pin action from this ball. I'm VERY pleased with this purchase.

Spares were my downfall, yet again. especially multiple pin spares. I decided to use my UpRoar from the start, and that wasn't a very good idea. I was very inconsistent, my ball was all over the place in game 1. Game 2 I went back to my Reign On, but still suffered from inconsistency. I was starting to get frustrated, evident by the 3 opens in a row (2-5-8 getting the 2-8, 1-4-2 getting the 1-2, 3-6-10 getting the 3-6). Finally game 3. I had given up on the night, chalking it up to just a bad night. I was due. I'm 185 average and had been averaging 208 for the past 5 series. Cue 7 strikes in a row. My friends kept me from thinking about it for 5. then I noticed. # 6 & 7 were both brooklyn, and i knew I needed to adjust. couldn't make the correct adjustment in 8, but got a spare. OK, still 278 possible. Oops, adjust too much in 9, got the spare. no prob. totally broke down in the 10th, threw the Greek Church. So frustrated, I guttered the last ball. ahhhhhhh. First time in 2 years that i've started with 7 in a row. Maybe next week! That was the last of the Thursday league. Still 2 more weeks of Tuesday. we're in the running for first place!!

I couldn't find a line, couldn't find the pocket, everything was extremely uncomfortable. Speed was off, grip was off. Just a completely off night. This was a carryover from practice on Sunday where I was having the same problems. Worst series in months. Was an all around bad team night too. We stole the first 2 games, and got destroyed in the 3rd. Next Tuesday is position night, and last night of the league (not counting rolloff on Wednesday). I hope we bowl 2 nights in a row!

For the past 2.5 weeks, spares have been my downfall. I've got some sort of mental block and can't figure out how to convert. My release has been way off as well. Again, nothing has felt comfortable. I'm missing my mark almost every shot. When I do hit it, I put no revs on the ball and miss the pocket. Luckily this was the last week of winter league. We finished the last third of the season in 2nd! Best ever for us! Summer league starts next week. I'll be trying to work on a consistent release, and of course, my spare game.

First night of summer league tonight. I felt pretty good. I ditched my Reign On and used the RotoGrip Uproar all night. I was fairly consistent on my first ball. I've been pulling the ball left of my mark by one arrow the past few weeks, so I've been trying to work on my timing to release the ball just a little sooner. I really had to crank up the speed tonight to keep the ball in the 1-2 pocket. This resulted in a sore shoulder and side. I'll have to try something else next week. Being sore isn't really an option. It felt good to bring my spare shooting back over 60% (22%, 59%, 50% last three series), and at 100% single pins, that really helps. My one split was a Big Four. Picked up 3 (6-7-10), so that was good. Hope to continue this good shooting next week.
