Looks like a great ball -- hooks like a mother. But it apparently doesn't come in 12# for me!

I saw Bill O'Neill using it on the telecast for the Bear Open Tuesday night. Looks pretty sweet. He didn't have a lot of success with it though. I've been wanting to buy an Assassin, might just wait and get the Legend. I like the idea of the ball not being as aggressive as the deadly aim and still having the carbon fiber. I've seen more than one being thrown around here (Deadly Aim), and had a chance to throw a few with one a few days ago. The sound is different, but the carry is incredible. Just a bit too aggressive for what I'm looking for, I already have the Mastermind that I absolutely love.

Really wish ball companies would make videos with real bowlers to show what the ball will really do. Having their Amateur/Pro staff throw the ball makes every single video look exactly the same. This goes for all ball companies. The only ball videos I will watch anymore is Lane Side Reviews.

Don't blame you I'm sure every ball looks good with a guy who throws 18 or more mph with 400 revs. Show me what it does with a guy who throws 13-14 and 250-300 like most bowlers.

The movement of the ball looked great... but with the dark ball color you couldn't tell at all what kind of revs any of them were throwing. Some ball reviews at least mention what range of revs the staffers have and that'll give you some idea. This one didn't say, and you couldn't even estimate. Bleh.

Yep. Absolutely. The hook will change with ball speed. you get a highly reactive ball and pair it with slow speed, I think it's gonna hood too early most of the time.

None of the bowlers had great success on that oil pattern. I saw a ton of open frames and lots of missed single pin spares. The ball looks really nice, but I do love my Assassin. I'm going to have to avoid the pro shop with all these new bowling balls coming out so I don't get tempted to buy another one lol...

It's really too bad they can't magically "test drill" a ball for you to give it a trial before you buy it. I would've liked to have thrown all the balls on my short list.
Y'know... we can put men on the moon, ya'd think we could figure out how to "test drill" bowling balls... Just sayin'.

Actualy at least Storm and at least Hammer offer something like that it's how Iceman picked out his Byte.

I wonder if they simply have "generic-drill" test balls, because custom drilling a ball just to test would be crazy expensive.

Yep, basically that's what they have at "Demo Days". They have some test balls drilled up which use adjustable finger and thumb grips so they can fit several different span. Then you can try them out.

Aha! Adjustable grips! That makes sense.

Actually there is one pro shop that has a rent a ball set up that has the adjustable grips but they only have 2 or 3 balls drilled to use. One is a Zero gravity for 10 a hr then there is a few low end balls for 5 an hr
