Distance Pin to CG

Hi guys! I need your expert advise again. I just want to ask what is the most favorable or most recommended distance between Pin and CG? Some of my friends told me it is 2-3 while some said 3-4.5. I am looking at a Storm IQ Tour Fusion and the Pro Shop here in Manila only has 2 units left. 1 with a 2.5-3 and a 4 1/4. Which should i get? My usual layout is pin up (between the fingers or on top of the ring finger with the CG kicked out) with a skid snap reaction.

Hope you could help me guys. Btw, i am getting this ball as a replacement for my Vivid coz for some reason Matte finished balls don't match up well with my shot and with the oiling that i encounter in our weekly leagues.

Just in case you ever want to try a different drilling, the 2.5-3 ball will give you more options in terms of layouts. Personally, I'd go with that one.

Both the balls, the 2.5-3 and the 4 1/4 would work okay with your usual layout of:

I personally would go with the 4 1/4 if your going to do that. Depending on how high above the fingers you go with the pin.

When ordering a ball a 3"-4" pin to cg length is a standard range and it will let you use most layouts.

Different pin lengths can make it easier to use different layouts. Too Short or too Long pin to cg distances can limit layout options.

Some drillers like to use-
Short pin lengths for pin down layouts (pins below the fingers) layouts.
Long pin lengths for pin up layouts (pin above the fingers) layouts.

I like around 3"-4" pin length with about 2.5-3 oz. top wght.

Top weight is just weight to compensate for weight loss when the holes are drilled. The average top weight ranges from 2-3 oz.

The two balls you listed are close enough to that range so would be fine for most layouts.

If matte surfaces don't match with your shot , Then change the surface.

You don't have to leave it sanded, if it's hooking to much/early then go to a smoother surface, polish it or both.
