Someone just bowled a non-sanctioned 900 series in a doubles tournament at Paddock Bowl in Pacheco, California. Here's the link to the video. May be non-sanctioned, but a 900's still a 900. Pretty impressive ;p

This is the video showing the 35th and 36th strike (:

Yet since it was non-sanctioned…it may have well been curing cancer or inventing a spaceship capable of reaching other galaxies…cuz it doesn't count.

Thats one reason I don't bowl unsanctioned leagues. There are other reasons…but if I ever actually throw a 300 (yeah right)…I'd kinda like it to count.

Not sure what happens if you bowl a 300 in a non-USBC tournament. I mean, if it's an ABTA or ABT tournament…in a sanctioned center…is that "sanctioned"?

I've never had 8-in-a-row…so I'm not "hating"…it's just a warning to those that play in non-sanctioned leagues…if you ever strike pay dirt…it might not count for much. And people need to understand, thats not just "bad luck"…the sanctioning exists to make sure these things are legitimate with legitimate equipment and consistent rules. Without that process, we'd see even MORE 300s, 800s, and 900s.

Who knows if its real or not! SEEING IS NOT Necessarily Believing ANY MORE!! People will put all kinds of B.S. on the net, just because they CAN!

So WHO KNOWS.....

If ,,, IF indeed he did, that's COOL, even if not sanctioned! How sad that would be if true, and not sanctioned!!

Well it was shared on Stormbowling's FB page and website, since he used a Pitch Black. I guess that's much of a surprise either, since most of the 900's have been bowled with Storm balls.

Just went to Storm Nation and no mention of the score? Maybe they don't post non sanctioned 900s (:) Also the lanes where this took place, no mention? I am sure I must be missing something, but I can't find back up as to this feat!!

Yeah it really does suck to shoot a 900 series and
not get the ring and all the glory to go with it.

I've never shot an un-sanctioned or a sanctioned 900
series yet but I've had numerous un-sanctioned 300
games and 800 series over the years with if I remember
correctly a high of 878 or 879 or something like that series
it was close but no cigar in un-sanctioned leagues and some
un-sanctioned tournaments.

The guy is an animal... would like more information on his league averages and accomplishments?Iceman....his average is not much higher than yours. Maybe a 900 is in the cards for a certain frozen superhero?

900 guy's USBC number: 11-370781

At least you've bowled 300 and 800. I haven't gotten anywhere near that yet ;/

And especially comparing this to the 18-year two hander that threw 900, and it did count for a ring. Course he has 18 at the time, now he's a little older, but that's just an extra point ;p

My question is: Now what do they do?

My best guess is probably a constellation award like a 900 shirt or something.

That is actually true. Although, it's fair to note that all 900s were bowled in the last 2 decades and Storm is far and away the highest selling bowling ball manufacturer and has been for much of that time. Had the bowling conditions been what they are now...I think Brunswick would be close as would Hammer.

But, gotta admit...it's a VERY nice marketing tool for Storm and a record that is not even close to being beat. I think Storm has 9 and the next closest is Hammer with 5. Even if you add up all of the Big 4 that are owned by Ebonite International (Ebonite, Track, Hammer, Columbia) they only have 8 (9 if you count the first disputed one). But then if you add RotoGrip to Storm's total that gives you 11.

List:
Storm: 9
Hammer: 5
Brunswick: 3
AMF300: 2
RotoGrip: 2
Columbia: 1
Ebonite: 1
Track: 1
900 Global: 1

Surprises:
Surprised that Columbia only had 1 (2 if you count the disputed one). Columbia may not be very popular anymore, but they and Brunswick ran the show for a long, long time. Surprised that AMF300 had 2. I mean, most casual bowlers probably don't even know the AMF brand name when it comes to bowling balls. I can name most of the new releases for every company on the list...but would have to check the web just to find out if AMF actually still makes bowling balls at all.

And glad to see the "Big Rig Diesel" on the list. A very close relation to the first ball to EVER make Aslan's coveted "Bowling Ball Wish List"...the Hammer Big Block Diesel. Was never (yet) able to find one undrilled nor one slightly used for a decent price...but...still on the list. Probably gonna have to hope I stumble across one at a garage sale though.

I gotta think DV8 and Motiv are chomping at the bit for the day they make the list. Two big brands nowadays...but nothing yet.

We can't forget about the biggest travesty in the history of bowling. The fact that hall of famer glenn allison shot a 900 in league july 1982 and was never and still not sanctioned. This was on a second shift league with a columbia yellow dot.

They should just give him the bowling center and a lifetime supply of balls and drillings.

Yeah, I was gonna say, not such a big surprise since Storm has the lion's share of balls out there. I bet Motiv will be getting some numbers in short order.

Oh yeah. Like Amos Gordon that rolled 900 with his Asylum. That's an example right there. And followed it with 875.

Perhaps. That's if I can afford at least one league this fall. Those leagues be so long, which is why I haven't been able to jump into one in a while, since we're in a bit of financial instability. ;/

The reason I say the 2nd shirt was by accident is because I did the registration like it was directed, on my first time. Then apparently I thought it may not have gone through, and then I called myself registering again to check and see it if it'd show the status that I've already registered. Instead it ended up registering me again, and later on after I got the fist shirt, weeks later, I got a 2nd one ;p
