so i won the Storm IQ Tour Fusion from last weeks giveaway! pretty stoked and i've never owned a storm! so storm owners i'm looking for what to expect from this ball. early midlane, heavy back end... i'm on a pc that wont let me watch videos at work due to a sonic wall. so any info would be accepted and thanked, i'm used to a skid flip type reaction and thats typically what i throw.

Shaneshu87 Congrats on the win. I haven't thrown this ball personally but I have two team mates that do. This ball is a real good all around piece gets through the heads well has some mid-lane read and a nice strong finish in the oob condition. I would say this ball has enough mid-lane to be most peoples bench mark and enough on the back end if you want to move left you can. In my opinion the best "bench mark" ball out there right now. I will say if you are used to real strong skid flip it may be a little different than you are expecting I wouldn't call this ball an arc shape but with the mid-lane read it has its not as snappy as some other balls out there. Which to me is a good thing but everyone is a little different.

thanks for the info, i'm hoping that this might replace my recently cracked Raw Hammer Jacked :( i loved that ball and it was my benchmark for many years even though it was symmetrical as well

Here's a quote of Rob's to someone that asked:

Question: Drilling suggestions for Storm IQ Tour Fusion?

Rob: Use a drilling that has worked for you in the past. When you drill holes in a bowling ball, you are simply changing the core numbers: the low rg and the differential. By using the same drill pattern on two balls, you can predict the differences based on the core numbers. When you use different layouts for different balls, you run the risk of making the two balls react the same despite their potential differences.

ok but the over laying issue is that i don't usually throw symmetrical balls i usually go with an asymmetrical ball so i have no idea how i should go about it, even though i had a symmetrical ball in the RH Jacked the issue there is that ball was what i used in 2009 and my game has changed allot since then mostly my release and foot work but i don't think i would want to put the same drill on that ball. so i'm just going to take a shot in the dark with this one ;)

I drilled a Fusion for TCCStudent, and he seems to be having good luck with it.

I linked the page that has a description of the layout.

think im gonna go with a dual angle like my deadly aim

Mine is drIlled 60x4.5x35 with a weight hole (3/4" 2 1/2" deep) on my axis. The ball is very clean through the fronts with a late midland read. It makes a nice controlled angular move at the break point without being what I would call "flippy". In my arsenal it fits below my Disturbed ,Primal Rage and Venom Shock as far as oil handling capabilities, the Tribal 45x4.5
30 is a little more continuous through the pins but I can flip flop thes two balls depending on how crisp the cackends are.

My specs , ball speed is 12.8-13 at the pins (Quibica). Rev rate 300-325, axis rotation 45-60 (depending on the line I'm playing), tilt 9 axis 5> 1/4 up

i wish i had a way to capture all my specs but i'm thinking i'm going to punch this one at 50x4x35 which is close to my deadly aim which is 55x4x35. my rev rate i about the same as your but i like to through fast on a house shot probably 15-16mph

Shane , your probably younger than me. I'm 62 and have a bad foot so I throw the ball slower. When I was in my 40's I was 17-19 mph

I'm out in California.

I had a Fusion that had been orphaned.

TCC said he wanted to adopt it, so I had him send me his specs.

I drilled it, and UPSed it to him.

Thanks Bunny and Mike. I wanted you to be a local guy that drills for Doug's company. I want him to bring Phil back. My team and I will only ever use Phil. If he dose not come back we will just order online and give our specs it's cheaper. We only use Doug's company cuz of Phil. Hell we have 3 balls that need drilled and as a team wanted to buy 2 or 3 new balls each. As if right now it looks like I'll be ordering and drilling online ;(

Mike drilled that ball for me off of Phil's specs and I am loving that ball works great on every type of pattern. I am avg 20 pins higher with this ball then I was in last years leagues my PBA avg is just under what my highest book avg was for last season. I hardly ever pull anything else out of my bag.
Every night it almost a guaranteed 600 series

TCC that's great! Phil really can do some magic on a drilling. I just hope Doug lets him come back. Really I know Doug could care less about my team not using his shops. But phill is needed.

How is Phil doing I haven't really heard anything in awhile.

Phil does know his stuff and I am sure that he will come back when he is healthy enough to do so. He has a big following and a lot of respect from all the bowlers in town and brings in a bunch of business.
As far as doing a deal with Mike White through the mail I will vouch 1000% that he can drill you a good ball.

if you are going to have the ball drilled online I suggest having the thumb drilled a little too small and working It out here.

Nope I use the vise ITs so the thumb is not even a problem anymore. I am very happy I switched, only trouble is I only have one ball at this moment as i moved to 16lbs ha ha ha. As for Phil I talked to him last night. Doug offered him a contract. He starts back next week, he said with all his bills and what not he will have to do a lot of coaching to catch up. So if you know anyone send then his way. Also there should be money raising tournament on Aug. 3 at BA Lanes. Let every one know.
