Bowlmor Lanes in Greenwich Village closes. This I believe was the first alley that bowlmor purchased a while back.

"The leagues are long gone, though at the end Bowlmor Lanes remained a spot for first dates, office parties and, of course, some longtime regulars".

Sad to hear any bowling center closing. A long time bowling center closed in tucson last year. Cactus bowl was the first center in the area to host a pba national stop and did so between 1962-1975 i think. The owners have some others centers in the area and renamed one of those cactus bowl after a remodel so the name at least lives on.

Sad, those lanes were cool. Bowled there about 10 years ago when I would travel to NYC for company meetings etc. Our company went there for an event, was very cool and retro.

Can't somebody get these things on the national Historic Register, or something? Our national heritage is disappearing!
