first summer league is almost done

after only bowling since nov. decided to join a the summer league. Figuring it would be a good chance to get my feet wet. I really do horrible. up to two weeks ago my avg was keep falling from the first night (an horrible 114 :() . well three weeks ago, one of the older players came up to me when I was doing open bowling with my wife. gave me some pointers. then next week I bowled 121-194-166, these last thursday 146-135-138.

little excited going into winter league but one thing. i have not partner. they changed to league I was going to do from a trio to a duo. so I am odd man out. my wife was thinking of doing league too, but she does not want to bowl with me. lmao



one of the people that work the counter is a friend of ours so she is going to check to see if a guy that sighed up would take me as partner. if not I have two other options, call my dad who is wanting to get back into bowling or just not do it and watch my wife. maybe I can get to sub once and a while.

There is always openings on teams at the first of the season just go to the league meeting and someone will help you find a team mate

Yeah just show up to the meeting and they will pair you up if you need a partner. As for doing horribly just keep practicing. We all start somewhere and the main thing is to try new things when you open bowl. Take advice from people who give it but make it your own at the same time. I have taken advice from a lot of the scratch bowlers at my local house and some work and some don't but i try it and sometimes alter it a little to fit me. Good luck with your fall league!

it is how got on the summer team I am on. just hoping the guy that signed up that does not have a team says he will team with me. something will work out.

Likes been said just show up to the meeting and they should get you paired up or on a team.

Another thing is go down and try to sub! on other leagues also.

just found out my dad is wanting to get back into bowling. my just team with him. me and him have a rocky relationship maybe a good way to work on that. my wife does not like that idea but, it may not really hurt, too bad. :p

Little update.
I am teaming with my dad. He came to watch me bowl tonight. Sadly my team mates did not. No subs for them so a blind bowl for them and a 15pin deduction. That hurt.

i really agree these week, we where bowling team I really wanted to beat. kinda had a bone to pick with them. bowled them the second week of league and they made fun of how I was bowling. plus then need to beat us to bowl in the money game. only lost by something like 72pins over all

first league is done got my first set of pins and key changes. guess I set and wait see if I get the most improved award. did win a little money too. that went into the vacation fund.

Well done! It's always cool to hit new benchmarks. Now you can shoot for 200/500. Also, you may have seen it but you can put your pins on your bowling bag. I think it looks cool to have them lined up on your bag.

I been thinking about putting on my bag, but right now I share a bag with my wife. so I don't know if i will put them on my bag just yet. maybe when I get another roller and split up the gear.
