joined a men's league

Well, my wife talked me into getting back into a league, and next Thursday at 7pm I am officially back at it after a decade off. I went to the league meeting with having been asked by two different friends to check with them because they may have an opening. Turned out they didn't. Then out of nowhere comes a guy I grew up with and had bowled with in the YABA junior circuit in the 1980' s. ( yes I'm old ) He needed a bowler, and now we're back together. Small world.

That is really cool I have a similar story. I just joined a mixed league with my girlfriend, one of my co workers and we were looking for a 4th and it just so happened that my girlfriend has a friend who bowls so she asked him. It turned out to be a guy I use to bowl with on Youth League in the mid-late 90's LMAO. Crazy how things work out. Good luck on your league

First day of league is the 21st, and I'm actually anxious. Three of my teammates I have never met so it'll be an interesting night. 16 lane house, 16 teams of 5. And just to make me feel old, one of the guys in the league is the son of a guy I bowled with in junior leagues. Haven't met him officially yet, but he looks just like his dad did in the 80's.

I know how you feel I have one starting Friday and I can't wait then the roll off for my summer Friday league is Saturday. Big weekend.

I guess I no longer bowl in a men's league the one that I was in has voted to allow women. So that make all my leagues mixed with only one being a required mix.

Just to update, after a missed 10-pin, and two pocket 7-10 splits, my first game back in action was a whopping 171, and I struck out the 10th to get that. I changed my line and rolled 212 and 214 for a 597 series. Kudos to our team captain who rolled a 285 on the way to a 733 series.
Monday I am planning on seeing my coach to figure a few things out. I bowled ok but my timing and release were out of sync and I was fortunate to score as well as I did.
Made some new friends out of meeting my teammates. They are happy that I am more than happy to be a designated driver for them whenever we go out somewhere. I'm the only one who's married so it'll take some getting used to talking to guys who are still chasing skirts. I've been married almost 25 years.
