Dexter SST8's (high speed come apart)

so i have owned several pair of dexter's in my time, just like with Hammer, it's what my grandfather used and bought for me when i first started bowling. but my last two pairs have experienced a melt down, and it's always my grip or push off shoe. right between the traction rubber and the arch of my foot the sole just rips in half and it feels like i'm trying to bowl in flip flops... very aggravating. so i have resorted in using a tennis shoe for my push off shoe and i hate it, i can never find a shoe that is quite level with my slide shoe so it throws off my approach. i have downgraded to a pair of dexters that don't have the fancy Velcro pads, i will miss my s10's since i love to slide, but will settle for some s8's. any one else have this problem? it has happened to two different sets of Dexter's.

Shane that's a strange problem I've never heard of anyone having them tear up there. I hear about people who are toe draggers that tear the front part of the shoe all the time but never in the middle of the sole. Have you talked to Dexter to see if they would replace them?

yeah and they said i could send them in and they would fix the sole for like $79 lol after spending 400 on balls my bowling fund is a bit dry so like i said i will settle for a $35 pair with s8's. they asked if i had some crazy hard push of and i really dont, im very slow on my approach and treat those shoes very well always putting shoe covers on before going anywhere. hell they cost $180! lol but this pair managed to last 4 years, my last pair only lasted 1 1/2 season and had a blow out half way through the season. these just recently blew up the other night during practice and it's not like it's a gradual tear it is a sudden almost "pop" when is does it.

I know a guy that has went through several pairs but his wear pattern is kinda funky and almost walk on the side of his foot he has had such a problem with shoes that I know one pro shop will not warranty his shoes

That's really weird. I haven't seen anyone else with that problem mine don't have a mark on them but they are only about a year old of course I bowl quite a bit but you do too.

That sucks! I've read of this while looking into sst8's for my husband.

Dexter has come out with a new traction sole that has a break in the middle so that it bends and relieves pressure on the middle of the shoe. I think in response to this issue.

The T3 only comes with the power step thing now. Mmm? I may have to replace the T3 sole that came on his sst8's with the new T2 hyperflex to avoid cracking!

Personally, I think they should fix it no charge. It's a defect.

A friend just got the TPUs. He said they're the most comfortable shoes he's ever had. I'm actually ready for a new pair but I've been a SST guy for nearly 20 years, so...

these look super sweet however due to a small void in the bowling bank account they're a touch out of my price range. and yes bunny i did see this and i brought it up when on the phone, their response was car manufactures don't give you the new 2015 model for an even trade on you 2014 model, that not how it works. i laughed it makes sense but i think its crapy customer service. these TPU's look like my next shoe lol the house i'm bowling at has a running strike pot that no one has gotten for 5 years... its over $700 and that will be my first goal of the season lol

On another note I have had the same pair of SST 8 for the last 6 years and mine have held up pretty good but I think it's about time to get a new pair
6 years and my ( can't think of the name of it the cushion inside the shoe) is worn pretty bad

fortunately i do not have Shrek feet lol so i think i'll be good my new dexters just came in today going to go try them out hope they slide good enough or i may have to buy a slide sock

I've had mine for two years with no problems. Weird.
