Tonight was my roll off for the championship in my win, lose, or draw league. I finished the season in second place so I had a bye into the final round. Me against five other bowlers in a best of three match.

First game 179 started off pretty well would have had a shot at 200 but I blew a 10 pin in the tenth. Results at the end of the third game third place.

Second game 159 left two splits and missed some spares was a little late in moving left with the asylum. Results at the end of 2 fifth place.

Third game 201 started off terrible opened the first three frames switched to the euphoria which I should have done earlier and got it back together finished with 4 out of the final five as strikes. Results at the end of three second place missed winning it by 4 pins.

Altogether I was happy my goal was not to embarrass myself bowling against the better guys and gals. I succeeded I wish I would have won but once I switched balls I never threw a bad shot after that most of my balls were in the pocket or around it all three games. I can't complain not sure on the money yet but can't say as I care that much this was about proving to myself I can compete and it may not have been exactly what I hoped for at leas I know if I'm on and there not I can win.

Nice bowling, Amyers. I would say you achieved your goal and then some. It also sounds like you're going to use that 2nd place finish as a learning experience. Next time you'll know when to make a ball change.

You are correct I have been more hesitant to change balls than I should be. Part of its a mental issue. One I tend to get more strikes with the asylum than the euphoria (leave corner pins) second I throw them so differently that the transition screws me up.

The asylum I play pretty deep inside swinging the ball out. Where the euphoria I'm much farther right I'm usually fine on the first shot but I have a tendency to swing a few out to far later in the game. Maybe with my winnings I can purchase another ball between them and won't have that issue so much. Of course I managed it well in that game I need to work with building my confidence doing it. I have bowled mostly two to a team leagues this summer so I haven't had to switch more often than not. I will be bowling some four man teams this fall which should allow me to get more practice with my transition.

Congrats, man! It really isn't all about whether you win, but whether you're happy with your performance.

Sounds like you applied a lot of pressure to the other bowlers in the third game and nearly won. Good job Amyers!

Great job Amyers. You put much effort into where you ended up. Definitely nothing to hang your head down about, just another learning curve moving forward. Keep up the good work, sir.
