Suggestions for new bowling shoes.

Looking for suggestions for new bowling shoes. I know everyone's feet are different, worked in a shoe store for way too long, but what are you wearing that you would suggest.?

If you have wide feet the dexter sst8 are great most confortable shoe I've ever owned. If you like more flexibility the 3GS tours are a favorite of my friends.

I used to only wear Linds back in the day but now
days I only wear Dexters and as Amyers said they
are a very comfortable shoe indeed.

As far as bowling shoes I buy what ever is the cheapest. Yes I would like an expensive, nice pair of shoes but it is not in my budget I currently wear Pyramid Men's Ram Black. They are okay, nothing to write home about. I have a lot of toe drag and If I get a year and a half out of $30 shoes I will be happy.

I currently have a pair of dexters which I do like. Been looking at the sst8's. May go that route. Thanks

I have really narrow feet and it's hard to find shoes that fit well. I tried Etonics (which I understand are no longer sanctioned) and found them to be too narrow. Never ran into that problem before! But I found a pair of Dexters that I like -- dedicated soles, too, and about $60.

Get a pair of dexters you can get the older sst's on sale and they will last a long time!!

I agree, these are the best fitting shoes I have ever had, of any kind. They are even better than my custom Red Wings.

I have the SST6 and they are great. Pay a little more and get a quality well fitting shoe that lasts. Cheap bowling shoes wear out quick, don't fit well and don't perform well.

I have dexter sst8's. the sst7's were my favorite, but I broke the shoe and dexter replaced them for free after 5 years! they are a little more structured and stiff, and take a while to break in, but I wouldn't wear any other shoe. however, if you are looking for a more athletic shoe, you can get a more economical dexter and still get a great quality.

SST6's here as well. Having a shoe made for right handers instead of universal makes a huge difference.

Regarding with bowling shoes I personally buy my own in the boutique because I want it perfectly fit and just my right size.

After I decided to plunge into bowling I shopped for shoes/reviews/prices. I decided on a discontinued model on sale online. The 3G w/rich Corinthian leather. OK, it was cabretta and I've never owned a Cordova. The largest size available was an 8 and I'm an 8.5, yet I figure it'll stretch.

When it arrives it doesn't look as the picture/illustration as it doesn't have the 3G symbol nor the name embossed upon shoe. It's a Dyno-thane w/bloody kangaroos on the shoes and cutesy checked shoe laces. Not the end of the world and not worth the aggravation of complaint/return.

I wear old man super thin dress socks and use a shoe horn for mounting. By the second trip, upon removal, I take note that the foam covering inside of the heel is shredding. I press on. I use the fine leather heel and lowest numbered [#3] sole as I understand their rating system for slicker surface is reversed.

I slide w/ease and they are comfortable even being one half size too small. Crowded at the toes, especially the left side from planting my foot for the slide, yet for the amount of games I'm rolling I've not yet a large complaint. The leather heel is showing a lot of wear on the edges and I'm somewhat concerned, so I decide to swap heel and sole to have a set [#8] broken in should the time arise.

The velcro attachment is most sturdy requiring a rather large flat bladed screwdriver to break the grip. Likewise on the sole. Except when it peeled off the velcro side of the two piece sole detached from the sliding surface side. Das glue ist kaput! The original SKU/inventory sticker is still on the box. I observe the date, 09/08/06. A tad over eight years has transpired.

Never mind Scotland Yard the case has been cracked. I suppose I'll need to obtain a contact cement to adhere the soul to the velcro backing if I ever wish to use it again. I never intended to swap out soles as some do w/balls though I would expect more than one n done.

They are comfortable and have given way enough that I'll start wearing regular thickness socks starting this afternoon. still a bittersweet experience. I wrote a review that was ignored along w/e-mail to customer service that responded in kind. They are still available at the same price though now that price is heralded as Black Friday price. WTF? How so as you haven't changed the price in the last couple of months. Naturally a brazen attempt to dupe the ignorant.

Not an isolated case as I found several items at the same old price being claimed as a Black Friday price. I did find one item that was a better deal, but still the practice is as shoddy as the old glue on me soles.

I considered the 3G tours, but the circular sole inserts had me questioning if they would have me by the short hairs when in need of replacement. I tend to believe I know the answer in me heart w/o further evidence. Good luck in your search.

Nothing new about this. 30 some years ago I had seen that Timex watches were on sale at a 25% discount. I went to the store and didn't find the model that I wanted. The sales clerk said, "No problem, we always sell them at 25% off."

Correct, as well there should be nothing old about integrity. Though in salesmanship the twain oft shan't through honour seek common ground.

How many of the $250+, I hate to say it msrp, balls do you ever see selling for anything close to that figure? I see about 20 "different" ball makes basically hawking the same wares.

I'm surprised there's isn't a barker on the midway offering incredible deals on a new line that hooks so much it cuts a doughnut in front of the pins. Whoop Arse on one side and, Don't Make Me Hurl This Ball on the other.

I would also say dexter sst. They're a little pricey, but the quality's pretty good. Any dexters, in fact, should be good. I got a pair, not sst, but still good
