Quick response to friction balls?

Looking for any recommendations on bowling balls that are quicker response high diff bowling balls to replace my old ones.

I really like the Brunswick Melee Cross with a low rg of 2.487 and a differential of .050, as well as the original Mastermind (2.488, .052). The Mastermind is a little more aggressive, while the Melee is a little more versatile. The Melee Cross is one of only two balls that I take with to every bowling center in the valley, as well as to tournaments regardless of the pattern being applied.

Rob where do you draw the line between a ball breaking sooner, and it burning up, and losing its energy. For me, its hard to see the 3 phases of the ball on some of my balls. Do balls that break much earlier have a tendency to burn up more then the ones that go long and flip late?

A lot of people myself included can't always see the 3 phases but you can see the end results as a way of telling you how the ball is reacting whether it's burning up or using too much energy in the beginning

Your not just JOKING are you?? I mean you being the Joker and all??? I have a hard time seeing the 3 phases also, even on balls with great contrast? But, yes I can see the end result.

would be nice to see it in slow motion, much closer to the pin deck! ;)

How cool would it be if during practice they had a high speed camera, that you could rewind and look at any given shot, with the ball and pin reaction! It could be incorporated into the LCD score screen. Maybe have the camera mounted on a couple lanes on a stand that positions it ABOVE and maybe 3 feet out from pin deck.

What a tool that would be when your practicing, seeing the ball, pin movement on any given practice shoot.

This is why I always encourage bowlers to learn to watch the ball exit the pin deck. For a right hander, the ball should exit directly between the eight and nine pins. If it goes toward the nine, it is losing energy and deflecting. If it goes toward the eight, it is hooking too late and is continuing to hook as it goes through the pins.

Point taken Rob, but what if you can't SEE the balls reaction, I am old,,, I can't get the binoculars up to my face quick enough!! Fricken Pins flying everywhere, covering up the balls path.

You might want to learn to bowl with blended bi-focals like I did. Now I can not only see the ball exit the pin deck, I can even write down the scores on the recap sheet without ever having to change my glasses.

funny you say that Rob,,, my oldest son is a sales rep/trainer for Johnson and Johnson. His department is contact lens! He has been wanting me to try out some of his bi focal types. My distance vision, in reality is pretty good, its up close that needs the help. LOL

I will give it a try tonight when I bowl with the Farm Boys up in Plattsburg! (watching the path of my ball through the pocket)

I was actually trying to say what rob had said earlier about the pins and the ball placement after impact. Im thinking about hammer's equipment, most seem to have a higher diff than other brands, any thoughts?
