I have a habit of muscleing the ball with a bent elbow (from throwing house balls) and would like to change to the correct technique of "swinging" the ball relying on momentum/pendulum. How would you describe the motion/steps of this approach?

With the weight of the ball on the non-bowling hand, push the ball out with the fourth step back from the line and let it drop. Gravity will do all the work for you.

well you don't have to change your approach or anything just have to let gravity do its job and 1 thing to remember don't force the ball let it goes on its own, it will take time for you to get use to it I know I use to.

but know on my swing plane I start with a straight arm to the top of my backswing and right when my ball becomes just behind me I bend my arm but I do it for a reason so when I get to my release I snap my wrist and straighten my arm to create more revs

Beats Iceman's 1-part video series titled: "Having the Gift". It was only about 15 seconds long and asked, "Do you have the gift? If so, you are gifted. If not, you might as well quit bowling and take up something else. The End."

Or commit suicide.
