Hammer

My scores were 168, 191 and 184. Last time I did any bowling was at our AMF in the beginning of May that closed down this September. I didn't touch a ball until tonight. I found a good track for my Raw Anger ball and just about stayed there for all three games on both alleys. Because I didn't have any practice in the Brunswick house before our league night I was coming in green behind the ears. I was lucky and found a good target area on both alleys. My Anger ball was working very nice. I used it as my strike ball and as a spare ball on anything from the 5 pin right. Left of the 5 pin I used my urethane Blue Hammer ball. The only thing I had to get used to was the slide. At AMF I could slide with no trouble but in the Brunswick house I hardly slid at all. I don't know if the approach needed cleaning or if that is the way their house is.
Once I got used to the slide thing I was able to make an approach and slide without killing myself. What seemed to work well was my swing and release. I was able to keep a light grip with my thumb through out the swing and because of that I was able to go from a cup position to an uncup at the release. My revs were pretty good also. I didn't seem to be muscling the swing from the top of the backswing. I was able to get far enough down and give it some juice right before the release. My thought for tonight was to make sure I stayed behind the ball until I got to the release area. So for not having touched a ball since May and not having any practice over the summer at the Brunswick house I didn't shoot three games that bad. I did miss some easy spares that I should have made but I am not complaining. Just think of the games I could be shooting if I started practicing twice a week. I am glad that we were able to get in the Brunswick house and not face a bowling season at home. It sure felt good to throw the Anger ball again.
