ok, i'm posting this for my local proprietor.

situation: new buffer machine, pheonix 6 pad

he just cannot find a balance of good oil length and layout to use, this house is 60+ years old with wood lanes, fresh resurface in august 2014.

what he is currently using does good through the first game by game 2/3 the transition is just insane! nobody can carry and i typically start throwing my spare ball by game 3. this is true for the whole house. so i was just curious if any of you are familiar with this machine and know of a good layout, how many units to use. ect ect....

thanks in advance.

The kind of information they need to program the lane machine you can't get here. The Phoenix 6 is a old machine

He would be better served contacting Kegel directly, they can help him out better.

You can to go to the Kegel Pattern Library to get patterns. Just input the information and it will give you some suggested pattern.
(Though I don't see that machine listed, so you might have to dig)

You could also ask on bowltech.com

One thing to remember is that the condition of the pad/wicks and the temperature of the oil is critical to consistency with ALL pad/wick machines.
