Can anyone recommend a non-"gadgety" wrist support?

I have a weak wrist and own a storm gadget. It's okay I guess for what it does but it's way too bulky and obtrusive and not very comfortable. I want something that will absolutely prevent my wrist from breaking but still allow me some movement to cup the ball inward. I'm thinking one that has a thumb hole instead of a palm strap. It also must be comfortable. Any recommendations?

I use one of these. Had to start wearing one due to wrist pain when bowling a lot.

I use an ebonite ZL-1. It gives engouh range of motion I can choose my wrist position but not risk of breaking it back (which also helps thumb exit). It is pretty comfortable and I don't really notice any heat build up until I bowl 5 or more games.

I have the Brunswick Air Command. It gives great support and is very light/breathable. (has a bar in the back and front of the wrist). It looks like it is similar to the Ebonite one linked to above. It allows you to cock/cup your wrist but not bend it back. It stops about half way up the back of the hand, so there is no finger support, if you are looking for that.

Thanks all. I wound up getting the Air Command, and I bought I washable ebonite liner. I was watching a talk bowling video and they said they liked it because you could remove the metal pieces. I definitely think i will do that cause I don't want any metal by my palm.

I tried a Robby's Cool Max to start with and it seemed to provide minimal support. Later it was recommended that I try a Mongoose Lifter. I bought one and it worked nicely with plenty of support. Then I changed to their Mongoose Optimum which I find even more to my liking. The support for the wrist breaking back is excellent. The difference between the Lifter and the Optimum is an added palm strap which comes around the side of the hand to keep it in place which I like very much.
In either case these are both very good supports for the wrist and they help the bowler use their fingers to get a nice rotation on the ball as the thumb exits its hole.

I've used the Mongoose "lifter" off and on for years. What I like about it is that the strap that goes under your middle two fingers can easily be moved to over all the fingers to allow you to throw spare shots with no lift at all.

I'll have to try the two finger method tomorrow. The instructions said that the three fingers was the preferred method but didn't say why. I blindly believed it so I stuck with the three fingers.

Robbies is the best for a simple wrist support IMO.

That being said, I think the Mongoose Lifter is the best teacher brace on the market.
