I have been here a while and never won a ball. I think there is a guy here that won a ball with only something like 150 posts. Is there anyone else here that won a ball with a low number of posts? I wonder who has the highest number of posts without winning a ball. I like the two bowling balls I have now so it aint a big deal. I never win anything anyway so I don't want to break that trend.

Well you might be thinking of me. This is like post number 210 and last month I win the Storm IQ Nano. But if it helps, they haven't sent it out to me yet! Bummed about it.

I was on here for 5 years before I won a ball. (Technically I've been on here longer, I was on the Original site this used to be called Bowlingballs and More.)
The lowest number of posts to win a ball was 2 (A guy made one post, then the next week he made one 2 word post and that post won. And he never made another post since.)

That's sad :/ it's good to just talk bowling on here win or not! I just like giving my options on things. I do miss some of the ones that posted for a short time like bunny and all the new bowler that stuck around for about a leagues worth of time then stopped posting. I always think what happend did they give up bowling? How are they? Its kinda sad really.

Yes I had a super low post count for the first ball that I won
I only had 14 posts back when I first joined up back in 2011
then won the Storm Reign On back in 2013 I think it was.

I remember the first year I was on here it seemed like only new posters were winning every week. It happened so often that it even became an running joke for a while (i.e. if you don't win within the first month, forget it). I've still never won myself though.

I won after just a couple of weeks so I probably had less than 200 posts at the time.

Just won my first ball on this site after almost exactly 5 years and about 1940 posts.

I've been very lucky here. I won a ball after being on here for only about 2 months and then I won another ball in the Pyramid giveaway over Christmas. By the way the wife loves the Pyramid ball she's finally getting to use it now that's she back to bowling right handed.

I won one with probably about 150 posts. It does seem like a lot of people win early on, and if you don't it takes quite awhile.

I have sorta wondered this myself...but agree w/ most above and say just post to things that interest you and have fun. Put the contests as much out of your mind as you can, that's when you'll probably win!
(for the record, I haven't won yet and I have a very low post count!)

It seems like a lot of ball review posts are cross-posted from Bowlingball.com, I'm wondering if one of those "members" has ever won? I know that some of the reviewers do post them up and check back (like Christina Hardee on Aslan's questions) but it seems some are automatic.

I'm not aware of any of them winning but I don't really keep track so take that with a grain of salt....

I joined in April last year and won an IQ Tour Fusion in the middle of June -- just a few days before my birthday. I don't remember what my post count was, though. I was posting quite a bit then...

I'll probably never win, I'm not well spoken so I don't post often, More of a read and learn kinda person. I will ask questions as I need to. But other than that, Not real chatty.
I won a ball after about 2-3 weeks after signing up. I don't post very often.

That's all. I don't know the exact process but I think they randomly select some one who has posted within a week of the drawing in any of the forums.

I must have missed that. I think the lowest post count I've seen win was somthing like 15 by that one girl that posts here occasionally. I think she started a thread and participated in another one...very light participation....and won a ball.
I do miss some of the ones that posted for a short time like bunny
Well, I take credit for that. Bunny and I (who were teammates and pals in the real world; not just here) had a falling out about 5-6 months ago over something I posted. It's a long story and not really worth discussing...nor do I like to discuss these kinds of things when the other person is no longer participating...but yeah. It's sad. It's sad about Iceman. It's sad about other regular contributors (like classgranny and the people that bolted for the "other" site) that we don't see as much. But, as I've always stated since this Bull first arrived in this china shop...you can't take yourself too seriously on the internet...you just can't. It's a medium that will frustrate and downright enrage you if you give other people the power to do so. I don't care what was said by whom about what to whom...a guy like Iceman should never tuck his tail between his legs and disappear. You can't let other people on the internet have that type of power over you.
But...don't feel bad Hammer. With Iceman in hibernation in parts unknown...I believe I currently have more posts (and words) than anyone on the site (even Bowl1820)...and I've only won once. I'm pretty sure the site won't let me win again because they know I'd just put the new ball in my "closet of destiny"...but thats okay. There have only been a few balls that they were giving away where I REALLY wanted to win. The Deranged, The IQ Fusion, The Dude...maybe a couple others.
Besides...until the wife cleans me out in the divorce...I'm flush. I can afford to buy my own equipment. My car is paid for...I try not to go to the strip clubs all too often...my medicinal marijuana isn't too expensive...gas is cheaper. Besides, when I DO buy new bowling balls it's either Black Friday or I found a ball on clearance. So, if someone else wins...I just hope it goes to someone deserving and/or someone that needs it.

Ya it just sucks when you loses friends on here and IRL. Most on here know that I have won a ton of contest but have only kept one ball for my self. I give them to needy friends or Jr. Bowlers I think that's how I have won so much. It's one thing to say your going to give a ball away it's another to do it!

I didn't necessarily "bolt"...my business is really, really busy between November and April, I just do what I can to enjoy what little time I have during those months...that translates to more reading/scanning more than posting.

I've found my participation vairies with how much/how well I am bowling :)
Good to see you posting again ClassyGranny :)
as for not taking things too seriously on the internet I take the other road in that respect I very intentionaly try to not post things that could get people riled up. it's just not worth it to have somone go off cause I called them out or proved them wrong on some forum....

I have yet to win anything, but I still have a low post count. I find that my post activity increases when there's a bowling ball I'd prefer to win as opposed to one that I know would be better off in another home. I did see that somebody won a bowling bowl on the same week of their birthday once recently. Hoping that might be me this time lol

I thought the only thing they took in consideration was that you posted on the giveaway thread. After that i figured it was a random drawing? Maybe a moderator could clarify the process for selecting the winners?

Every post made on BowlingBoards during the dates listed above will be considered an entry.
That's the first line in the giveaway threads, so I have a feeling that since it's generalized as just "BowlingBoards" posts anywhere on the site count, not just the thread itself.

Pretty sure AndrewRM is correct each post anywhere on the site counts as an entry

I can confirm you don't have to post in the ball contest thread. The time I won I did not post in the thread previous to my name being announced as the winner.

Winning a ball would be fantastic, but I joined to find people like me who can't shut up about bowling. My friends and family are getting tired of hearing it!

Too funny! Same here...just about every free moment, I am either on my phone reading something or watching something about bowling or talking about it. Wife is starting to get annoyed and says that I am obsessed. At least I got her more interested in the sport and now she has her own equipment and even watches the PBA events on tv with me!
