Well been reading your article "The Spaces Between" which is interesting (That and Ken Kasprzak's "Surface Management: What’s Your Number?")

So I did my "Personal style chart" (see inset in image below) and then charted my current equipment. Given if I read it right, my current setup matches my P.S.C. about right correct?

Pretty close. While your style leans a little bit toward a dependence on rg, friction is still very important. As you are speed/rev balanced, you should be able to utilize the entire spectrum of RG's in your arsenal. The only thing that I see that could result in a hole in your arsenal is the fact that three of the balls are solids, and one (Dagger) a hybrid. When you factor in the increased length from the hybrid cover on the Dagger, it seems like there could be a hole between the Bad *** and the Dagger. You might consider adding a pearl with an RG around 2.50 to cover all of your bases.

Okay, I actually have a pearl also. I just didn't include it in the chart which are the 4 newest balls I have.

I have a old Storm Pyro which is a particle pearl, the rg is 2.54 / .049 diff. I bring it with me depending on how the lane conditions are trending at the time and also when going to a tournament.

Typically I only bring 4 balls to league, 3 main balls and a spare. At the end of this season I was bringing the B.A., Dude and the Pyro.

After reading the Surfacing article, I'm thinking of making some changes to how my surfaces are done also.

I think the fact that the Pyro is a particle pearl pretty much negates its pearly quality. What kind of surfacing changes are you considering?

No it doesn't negate its pearly quality!

I've had other pearls before and it rolled basically the same way they did. I've had it for about 9 years now, I mostly use it when the lanes start breaking down or when there's a lower volume/shorter pattern.

I'm still just thinking about what all I want to do, But After reading the article on Surface Management by Ken Kasprzak, one thing is maybe increasing surface on a couple of my balls.

I kind of go along with the idea that the surfaces that most bowlers are using. Are probably smoother than they think they are and you should try duller surfaces.

That was something I was told years ago during one of the first times I went to Kegel. They had looked at my equipment and they said "Yep! No surface" (mine where polished like most everyone else, I'm not quite as bad now) and they told me typically most house bowlers didn't have enough surface on their balls.

I've already been using the med/light pressure with my pads or paper.

Note I use paper more than pads, I feel paper cuts a bit better and I can also gauge how wore the paper gets better. (plus you can get p-scale paper, cheaper and kind of lasts longer)
