I won a ball here and decided to try 14lb instead of the 15 I have been using for 10 plus years.
About 80% convinced on going all 14 for the coming season and beyond.
Here's the scoop, I'm 52 6' 190lb in reasonable shape and have had 3 surgeries on my right arm, Carpel tunnel, rotator cuff, and Bicep tendon.
Throwing the 15lb ball last season was fine as long as I didn't throw many practice games, when I did was having some elbow pain.
I have recently started throwing some practice games with the 14lb and using a mongoose wrist brace and have not been having elbow pain, I'm pretty convinced that medically the lighter ball will reduce the stress on my arm and possibly allow me to play and practice pain free.
Just got a couple of new balls last year but since they are popular models could sell them and recover some cost.
The 14lb ball is a DV8 Diva Devine and I am planning to get a DV8 spare ball ( can't flatten out my shot without removing the wrist brace and that's a pain)
and possibly a ball (Thug Unruly ? )for heavy heavy oil, the league I play in tends to really lay down the conditioner heavy.
Ok who's done this or has experience with it, how much carry will I lose ?
