What year, and is it closer to the old version of the blue dot, or the now version of the white dot?

I would suggest emailing Columbia 300 support and see if you get a response.

Though serial number information from back then is sketchy.

On the old Columbia Balls the first digit typically indicated the last number of the year it was made (ex. "8" would be either 1988, 98, 08).

Checking on the old Columbia site the Green Swirl was listed around the last half of 1998.

So most likely it's a 1998 ball.

As for if it has a hardness rating similar to the old Blue Dot, I can't say.

The hardness rating for the White Dots was listed as 80-84

The hardness rating for the Blue Dots was listed as 83-87

Your best bet would be to just use a durometer to check the hardness as it is now.

He claims it's 1995.

Yeah it's on Ebay, I had my stuff stolen in March 2014 (including an old blue dot) and I don't like the current WD as my 10 pin ball. Can't find a BD anywhere so trying to look for old versions of the WD.
