Well, I finally decided to invest in my bowling a little bit. Changing all of my equipment to the VISE IT system for thumb.

Getting 2 thumbs and converting 5 balls over to it. One thumb as my regular and one a bit larger for when thumb swells.

Went with my local pro shop as they just changed owners and I know the guy that will be doing the work. He was on the USBC Open Nationals winning team last year. He gave me a deal on it at just a bit over cost, so can't complain about that.

So are you getting all your balls changed over. I would keep 1 or 2 as regular thumb hole setups for "backup". I've seen on occasions (even at PWBA event recently) where these inserts break and you're left with no usable balls until you can get a PSO to fix them.

That's great I have used them for about 2 years now. love that I can change on the fly. Never had any trouble. My thumb is always up and down in size.

Sounds like a great idea ! It always seems the thumb hole is ever so slightly different on each ball and it can drive you crazy trying to get the same feel / release with each different one.

I think you'll like it. It has definitely improved my game versus having to use/change tape constantly.

The majority of the cost is up front. I have 6 inserts of varying sizes. I almost never use the smallest one. I rarely use the largest one. But now every ball feels the same. I never did it on my spare ball just because I didn't want to keep switching slugs between shots AND because my spare ball is just a $25 job I bought used that has a chip near the finger holes...I figure it might die sooner rather than later so there's no point in investing too much into it. But if I bought a new spare ball....I'd be tempted.

Vdubtx on my plastic Pyramid spare, I kept it conventional without a slug. Ask your PSO if there is a downside to putting the IT system in a polyester ball. Turbo is the brand I use, although I feel that Vice is just as good. The thumb systems are great, 10/10 great! I keep 2 of my normal size and 1 that is larger. Looking forward to see how this goes for you. Expecting great results.

Somehow this doesn't surprise me. Why would you have 6 thumbs? Get 1 that fits just right, one bigger and adjust each with tape for changing conditions. But, that's just me I guess.

Thanks for the info. Will ask about the polyester ball when I start to get them done on Thursday. Get a few done that night and the rest on Saturday. I bowl that night so will only be able to get the ones I typically don't use at that house done that night.

That was the plan. But as I've learned to get my thumb out of the ball cleaner...I've needed smaller and smaller inserts. Probably won't be an issue for you...but for lower level, entry-level players...as you learn to get your thumb out cleaner...you'll find that the bigger inserts are less and less useful. Like I said, I rarely use the biggest one...I rarely use the smallest one...generally it's the 3rd and 4th biggest that get used.

Got it, you essentially acquired that many after making changes. Finding the right feel is is certainly important.
