View Full Version : In your opinion, who has the best form

This is obviously very subjective. There is a contrast between classic and modern form.

A few of the forms I like watching are Ronnie Russell, EJ Tackett, Sean Rash, and Ciminelli.

WRW may be one of the best of all time but I dont' think anyone out there would call his form fluid, it's kind of ugly to be honest.

Anthony Pepe has great form I think.

I agree with Russell, Tackett and Rash. I'll add Bill Oneil to the list. I also like watching Wes Mallott. So much power in what looks like an effortless pitch.

What about Mike Fagon!

As a lefty, I'm a fan of Rhino Page's swing.

I think Ronnie Russell has an amazing-looking delivery.

Overall though, even though the style doesn't necessarily translate to today's bowling, I have to go with my man, the GOAT, Earl Anthony. Dude was as consistent as we've ever seen.

Lefty - Parker Bohn III I think has really good form. Just really smooth and looks so consistent and has an absurd 104 300 games in his career.

Righty - Marshall Kent - I like his form, no extra movement and again just really smooth.

Women - Danielle McEwan - Has really good form. Her bowling form is really good too. =P

Agreed.

But for me....I think best form goes to Sean Rash. Honorable mentions to Dick Allen and Parker Bohn III.

Most people would say Chris Barnes...although with him getting older...with his back issues...I think he's losing some of that physical ability that he used to have.

Dick Allen has a great release. Parker Bohn III is the most balanced at the foul line and has the most consistent speed/shot. But Sean Rash is nearly perfect in every area...release, power, speed, form, timing. And part of it is he is just BIG compared to Parker and Rickie/Dick. His body size gives him a physical power advantage over a Dick Allen or Parker Bohn III...allows him to do more with his shot.

Marshall Kent & Parker Bohn right now. All time: David Ozio.....That is how you throw it.

Steve Cook had great form and release but maybe the most intimidating player ever.

The big man running out shots with intensity. I never get tired of watching him and what a knee bend for a guy that size.

The telecast has him listed at 6'6"". I think he was taller than that. He was at a pro-am years ago i was in. Even more intimidating in person. Maybe because he is a foot taller than I..

Listed at 6'7 265 on PBA site, was there a reason he retired at age 35? Injuries? With his style he looks like he be a tough out today.

I think he may have had some health issues. The main reason he retired though is he started Steve Cook Bowling Supply In California and put his focus on that.

Since he was born in '57, 35 years of age would put his retirement at '92, which is when reactive resin came along.

Technically, Forkel. Very efficient style https://youtu.be/rAhobUSyJOQ

Aside from best form, but was amazing to watch.
Bowled a BPAA tourney in about 78' with Ray Bluth (in my teens). Crazy...

No, never saw or heard of Michele Feldman. Of course there are a few women who have strange styles or crank the ball. But most don't.

Not your typical lady pro bowler. Stout, stocky strong might describe her. She could probably whip Weber or Duke with one hand tied behind her. Rasslin not bowling....

Prior to the 80's would go with my all time favorite player, Don Johnson.

Had the opportunity to watch him just practice . His follow thru at the top of his pendulum had a distinctive outward finish that was just pretty, signature if you will.

Extremely knowledgeable - Student of the game.

Pete Weber's got great mechanics.

Chris Barnes, too.
