I know a couple years back, like 2005 or so, they had finger tape with like daps of glue or rubber on it for your fingers. Does any know if they still make finger tape like that and if not can I get some suggestions for some good textured finger tape?

Thanks guys!

Don't you use finger grips?

No... inserts lose their tacky rubber feeling to quick I think. Feel like I'm always replacing them ever 30 or 40 games. And since I bowl 4 leagues on top of practice and tournaments on weekends, it got a little more expensive then I would have liked. Plus, I like the no inserts feel better.

Would it be easier to just rough up the back of the finger holes with a little sandpaper periodically? You could always cut some white textured bowlers tape down to fit in the finger holes if you wanted.

I can't remember a finger tape exactly like you describe, that sounds more like the tacky gripper gloves.

Now there's things like vice finger protection tapes

I have used some of the finger protection tapes - but the ones I have used are smooth textured. Some have better adhesive on them than others. The ones I just bought don't seem to last for three games just about two and a half. But still way better than bowling with bare fingers even with the finger tip grips. Guess I am just getting old.

I have tried the tape and it works great for the first like 7 or 8 games. Then I have to change And i will usually know I have to change it out when it starts coming of my hand wrong and I would rather not have to throw a bad shot before I know I have to change my tape. On top of cutting half inches pieces up to fit just a pain. I like the Finger tape idea since I have heard some pros say they use the same taped up fingers for 16 game blocks and it holds up the whole time. Seems more durable and consistent.

It was exactly like those tacky gloves but just in tape form. It was awesome. I think I'm going to give that NT-50 tape a try. After all it is "Wes Malott's tape of choice"

There is a glove out for this purpose, textured finger tips for gripless balls. I can't remember the name but I will ask a guy that has one when I get to youth league and post the answer.

NT-50 tape is what I use. 6 squares wide is what I always cut it to. Speaking of which is almost time to order a new roll......

For those who haven't used it, the tape is stretchy and allows you to put it on tight without it cutting off circulation.
The only thing I have had to get used to is eating with my offhand as to not get any grease or food/beverage on the tape.

I use silver tape from Real Bowlers Tape. I do not use inserts and place this tape in my finger holes. It provides me with the grip I am looking for and the ball feel I like. Hope this helps.
