To all those who have bowled or currently bowl with shoes that have buckskin on the slide shoe; how effective are these shoes? Do you prefer buckskin over others? What kind of maintanance should be done on them?

Buckskin had been the standard sole for years, But a lot of the shoe companies like Dexter have dropped it in favor of the white microfiber. (that was a bad move.)
I prefer the buckskin sole most of the time, in fact I just got a buckskin sole to replace the white microfiber sole that came with my TPU-X's.

The WMF is just a little too tacky for me (especially if the humidity is up) and the gray felt a little too slick for the main house here.
I mainly just use a wire brush for the buckskin.

I had buckskin on my SST 4's, and loved it. As soon as I see them for THE 9's, I'm buying it!

Thanks for the info. I recently got a pair of old shoes that have buckskin and wasn't sure if it was still used today.
