My Review for the Octane Burn would be as follows. The intent of this ball was to have a pearl ball that is clean to the break point on the break down and have the ball more controlled motion off the back part of the lane. With the controlled motion off the back part of the lane, this Pearl is closer to some of the past leases Motiv has had. The Core is my favorite Core in the Motiv line as the core leads to a clean look to the spot and less change in motion than some of the Higher RG Cores. I have Drilled 2 Burns, one that measures 60 X 4.5 X 70 pin down and the other is 50 X 4.5 X 45 pin over. The pin down as expected is smoother of the 2 and with less over all motion. I would say more controlled motion, motion reminds me the One of my Favorite balls the QZ2 Backdraft, cleaner than the QZ2 and more down lane movement. The pin Over is over all cleaner to the spot and more over all change in direction. This has allowed me to open up the angles when Pin down seems to be out of energy and stops hitting as I creep left. So With the two there is a nice change of pace between the two for later in the day on longer formats.
Over all this ball seems to be more true to the motions that have made me MOTIVated. The smoother down lane motion and good but not aggressive midlane motion is exactly what has been missing in the line for a while. I would say if you are looking for a controlled Hockey stick Motion this ball is exactly what you are looking for. Not as strong as the Red Ball down lane and cleaner to the spot than the Panic or the Reline. The Burn falls in place quite well on the ball chart and is perfect for the leftovers or as the league pattern seems to dry up and you need to chase left.

I bowl mostly on wood lanes. The Octane Burn for me is the first out of my bag. It reads earlier and covers more boards than my Tag. I pre-ordered and received it before the official release date going by the name burn I was expecting a good ball for that. While it is a typical Motiv ball (awesome with unending continuation) it doesn't fit the condition I expected it to. It does however fit Motiv's ball chart precisely. If lookling for a ball for the burn either Apex would be a better option. Motiv lists this ball as for medium oil and that seems about right.
