With the use of THROBOT and the Computer Aided Tracking System (CATS), we are able to give a market comparison of today's performance balls.
Feel free to pause and watch again to get all information presented.

Test Parameters - ThroBot- CATS:

a .Ball drilled to match average league bowler : 45 x 5 x 30
b. RPM 325
c. Ball speed 16.5 mph
d. Axis of rotation 50 degree
e. 7 degrees of tilt.
f. All balls box finish by manufacturer
g. Flat pattern 42 ft with 31.6 ml of oil
h. All balls thrown for 5 games to minimize impact of mechanical friction advantage due to surface preparation
i. Lanes oiled after each ball was thrown 3 times, the third throw was used for data gathering
j. CATS data recorded total hook in boards, distance before it begins to hook, Angle of entry and decrease in speed.

*The comparisons provided have been prepared as a guide and they are intended for informational purposes.

WITH THE USE OF THROBOT AND THE COMPUTER
AIDED TRACKING SYSTEM (CATS), WE ARE ABLE
TO GIVE AN UNBIASED MARKET COMPARISON FOR
TODAY'S HIGH PERFORMANCE BOWLING BALLS.

Feel free to pause and watch again to get all information presented.

TEST PARAMETERS:

BALLS DRILLED TO MATCH AVERAGE LEAGUE BOWLER 45X5X30
BALL SPEED - 17 MPH
RPM - 325
AXIS OF ROTATION - 50 DEGREES
TILT - 7 DEGREES
FLAT PATTERN 42FT WITH 31.6ML OF OIL
ALL BALLS THROWN FOR 20 GAMES WITHOUT ANY SURFACE ADJUSTMENTS PRIOR TO THROBOT TESTING
EACH BALL WAS SURFACE SCANNED OUT OF THE BOX, AGAIN AT 10 GAMES, AND FINALLY AT 20 GAMES
LANE OILED AFTER EACH BALL WAS THROWN 3 TIMES, THE THIRD THROW WAS USED FOR DATA GATHERING
CATS DATA RECORDED BALL SPEED, TOTAL HOOK IN BOARDS, ANGLE OF ENTRY AND POSITION ON LANE
