Review:
The New Motiv Jackal Carnage provides a ton of hook and hits hard! The Carnage is right up there in total boards, or more with the latest Hook Monsters from the other brands. I have always loved the Predator Core and have had good luck with it going back to the Raptor P7. This new cover provides early hook with a strong backend and exceptional carry. I normally drill a pin up and a pin down on a new release to judge reactions and the Carnage really surprised me. There is always a nice difference in motion due to the layouts but the difference was huge for me on this ball. I don’t have a high Rev rate but I was 5-7 boards left with my feet throwing the Pin down Carnage compared to my pin up on fresh oil. The main difference I see between the Original Jackal and the Jackal Carnage is when they start to grab the lane. The Carnage is a few feet earlier which increases total hook but the surprise here is the ball does not quit. I can play up ten on a Sport Pattern and still not leave weak tens. The Jackal Carnage needs oil with the box finish. We have polished one here for kicks and it is cleaner through the front but still hooks a bunch. I think the polished Carnage looks great too! Another thing I have noticed about the new solid cover on the Carnage is it doesn’t seem to glaze up after bowling. I just hit it with some cleaner and a towel and it looks fresh as the box finish.
This ball is on the top of the hook chart for Motiv and will not disappoint. The carnage looks great and is an easy recommendation to make for someone who needs a big hook ball. If you bowl in a flood, have a lower rev rate or fast speed you will love this ball.
Summary:
A ball that will hook with anything currently offered.
Excellent hit, carry and drive through the pins.
A must have for heavy oil.
This is a great piece to have if you bowl on wet lanes or longer patterns.
