This game just isn't fair sometimes

My wife and went and watched the USBC Ohio Queens tournament finals today. A young phenom named Meilssa qualified 5th, and tore thru to the finals. There she absolutely buried 12 shots but got shafted by a ringing 7 pin and three stone 8 pins. ( she's a lefty ). Her opponent was on spot too but carried several wall shots, including the first shot in the 10th to seal the win by 7, 235-228. It really could have been a 300 game.
At a recent tournament Melissa was the only female in the field and won the event going away. I told her I wouldn't want to bowl her for lunch money. She's flat out good. The woman she lost to today defended her title for the 5th straight year.

We all feel the pain! It's incredible how the game is sometimes. I feel for her--sounds like she's an awesome bowler. There certainly isn't too many female lefties out there--heck, there's only one across 3 mixed/women's leagues in my house.

Side story: The (much) younger sister of a good friend just qualified for a regional high school tournament, shooting north of 635--I don't know the exact score, but we were in high school when she was born. It's weird to hear about her bowling--she's quite good (averages 200+), and a wonderful person to boot.

Melissa Van Dyke is who I was talking about. She just put together a 5 girl team to compete in the Men's City Tournament. She named her team " No Test Eagles ". Now that's funny. She's competing in a tournament that I'm looking to get into. She won it last time, and she was the only female to enter.

I was going to suggest " No Test Tickles " but her was is funnier because you have to work on it JUST a bit harder to get the joke. Scary part is her team could win.
