Cleaners....when to use?

I understand that after every session that bowling balls should be cleaned. And I do! I even use TPS and do it little more often. But looking on the bottles, it says either anytime use or before or after use only. But I have been told by someone that you can't clean once score has happened. Or is this only during tournaments?

There are certain cleaners and polishes that cannot be used during competition and are listed on the above link on the last section.

That Purple Stuff is approved for ANYTIME use.

Unless it is specifically stated in the rules of the tournament or competition, you can use it per USBC guidelines.

With a cleaner approved for anytime use you can clean at anytime you want unless directly prohibited by league or tournament rules

I was hoping and thankful for their response. I saw the list prior to your posting and was thinking that I was right, but the other guy who has bowled in numerous tournaments was thinking he was totally right. Lol.
