USBC just posted an article regarding Average Integrity that will put into place for the 2017 Open Championships!

The data is able to be seen on Bowl.com and will help not just the USBC determine averages, but should be in use for all Tournament Directors if they choose to use.

I think this is a great move at bringing back the integrity of our sport back into line.

The new Find Member link is posted on bowl.com now. Just looked myself up and see my Open championships average. Very Cool.

Way to go Chad Murphy and the USBC!! Long time coming.

Besides the new look on the "Find A Member" they added in a section for “Championship Average” which displays the open championships tournament average based on the most recent 27 games since 2008 adjusted utilizing the USBC Sport Average Adjustment Scale.

Looks like the main change is they just are going to use your highest average from your past three seasons of league play, open tournament or sport league adjusted average for entering average to the Open tournament.

So basically if you have been coming into the Open Tournament with 150 league average all the time and then after adjustments they find your averaging 230 in the tournament.

Your going to have to start using that 230 tournament average for your entering average.

That is good for those who bowl in the tournaments. What percentage is that?

I have no idea what the percentage is, according to the USBC the Open has around 60,000 to 90,000 bowler's in it.

1-2%

But in fairness....unless you're bowling at a higher level and investing the time and resources to go to things like the Open Championships...sandbagging is just a social aggravation and costs ya $30 here or there.
