I can't really comment much...given the most I've paid was $105 for the Brunswick Fortera Exile I got on bowlingll.com during a black friday sale.

But I noticed a guy last night throwing a Lane #1 DIFFerence. Looks like a newer release by Lane #1. It performed pretty well...granted it was hard to tell with a palm bowler...just about every ball they throw, even a house ball, looks like it has a lot of back end. But man...I looked online and this ball is going for $305-$310!!!

I can't imagine paying that much for a bowling ball. I've seen new Motiv releases up around $249...new releases from lots of companies > $200...but > $300???!! WOW! I didn't even know bowling balls COULD cost that much!!

I figure many people on this site have gotten excited about a new release like the Crux or Hyper Cell....and I imagine probably shelled out something in the upper $200s...figured I'd see who's spent the most on one ball (not counting drilling).

I could never drop $300 for a ball. Most I have played with drilling and grips and slug was $213 with tax included.

Lane 1 DIFFerence had a release date of February 2015. The excessive price for nothing really special is probably why they are not one of the best sellers.

I have a hard time spending $200 on a ball let alone $300. Yikes! Not gonna happen with any equipment I would own.

For once....I agree with everyone that has posted.

$300? Do you at least get a Track drawstring bag or a DV8 towel or something?

I think that ball needs a new marketing approach...given the Motiv situation. Saying it has the highest differential in the market is both:

..."not" true...
and
..."hopefully (for their sake) not true.

I'd change the slogan to "High differential....without the recall!"

I'm averaging 4 pins per dollar spent on a ball.

I wonder if I could shoot a 1200 game with that?

Aslan, Quality > is greater than quantity.

Can you post the pic of the 10 bowling balls on your bed? Or at least the closet in which they are stored? How about the pic of the home made ball rack? Please post some good pics, Iceman would always post great pics. Aslan > Iceman ? Right ? Wrong ? :)

I already did all that.

I wanted the rack to get the balls out of the closet and put them "on display"...but after retiring my last arsenal....1/3 of the rack is retired balls...would be 1/2 but the Frantic and Slingshot cracked.

On the bottom I have my old/retired Rhythm, both Encounters and my more recently retired Asylum.

On the top I have my next arsenal (#3) (work in progress) of the Bullet Train (unretired), Track 300A, and Rotocrip Defiant Edge.

On the middle shelf I have my two older bags just kinda sitting there...and I have two balls I'm "considering" for Arsenal #4...A Radical Reaxx Pearl and Ebonite Warning Sign.

Still not sure about #3 and definitely #4 at this point. I kinda want to keep the Bullet Train retired...given I'd have to constantly have it polished to the max just to use it on a house shot. Was kinda considering the Warning Sign...I just don't like how it fits with the Defiant Edge and Track300A. The Warning Sign has a hybrid cover and a very low RG...I'm just thinking it's gonna be a "poor man's Defiant Edge"....regardless of cover stock...and I'll end up with a ball very similar to the Asylum...where it just doesn't have the "power"...starts hooking way too early...and can't carry corner pins. But, who knows? I still got time.

And I'm definitely not married to the Reaxx Pearl. I have an Ebonite Innovate and a Track 706A...both of which are somewhat close in specs. I also have a DV8 Ruckus that interests me.

At 15lbs, I kinda got a decent arsenal line-up...an Aura Mystic, the Rhino Pro I won here on BB.com, and a Brunswick Fortera Exile...but also have a 900Global "The Nuts"...which has some interesting specs.

I'm trying to go back to 16lbs for the next arsenal (#3)...see if it's a positive or a negative or has no real effect.

But I only have about 425 games on the current arsenal...and most of those are on the Lethal Revolver that I rarely use anymore. So, I figure...even if I put 12 games a week on them going forward...it could be another year before I make the switch....but probably no less than 5 months...unless one of them gets damaged or something. I like to get 200-500 games out of a ball. Those added up quicker when I was doing 10-16 game marathon practices. Now I can't do that. No point given how there's no oil on the lanes. Plus, my elbow needs "rest"...the strained ligaments and tendons aren't going to heal as long as I keep bowling. But, I don't really wanna stop....so I just gotta bowl "smart" and not "over do it".

Well my pro-shop includes drilling in the price so I guess it depends on what you value the drilling at. I think the most expensive ball I have purchased was my wife's Nirvana I paid $197 drilling and thumb slug included. So I usually figure $60 for drilling and the slug So about $137. I generally go for more of the moderate balls so mine are $159-$179 usually everything included. I would have a hard time with the price of the Difference mainly because it's so out of line with everything else. I clearly remember paying $120 for the top of the line Hammer Balls in the mid to late 80's so really anything under $200 is a bargain in my book

I think the most I've paid for a ball with drilling, inserts and thumb slug was $192 for my Crux.

The most I've paid which was back in 2014 for my Hammer Badass and
Hammer Spike both drilled at the same place and day with finger grips
and thumb slugs was $454.35 for both out the door.

Back in the 80's it wasn't unusual for me to spend well over $200+ for
new bowling balls 2 or 3 times a month as I'd use them for a few weeks
and then give them to someone who needed a new ball or sell them and
go buy something else.

Most expensive bowling ball I've bought was a Storm Zero Gravity. I own 7 bowling balls and that's the only one I've had that cracked. So I guess the price tag wasn't warranted...

I have only been bowling for 2 months, and am still building my arsenal. Since I realize that I have no clue what I'm doing yet, I try to be cautious. I just paid $70 out the door for a lightly used Storm IQ tour Nano yesterday. Haven't thrown it yet. We will see.
