I know different states have different laws but carrying a loaded gun wheather concealed or open seem to be legal. Is it also legal to carry a large knife? How about a large sword? Someone told me you could carry a gun but not a "over 3' " knife. Sounded really stupid but I am not a gun guy. What is it I am missing?

Public servants make mistakes just like everybody else. Your out side playing with a sword or even a toy sword be observent and if a cop says to drop it , drop it better than being a stastastic. <sp>

Are you serious? Shoot to kill a person with a gun not a kid with a toy sword. Too many trigger happy cops if you ask me.

Both are legal to carry, with restrictions of course. But remember there is no license needed for a knife and it's easily concealed, which i would consider it to be just as deadly as a gun. There's actually something called a 10ft rule. It's where someone can discharge their weapon, if someone is wielding a knife, because it only takes about 3 seconds before they can reach you.

Pocket didn't you hear the joke about the guy who brought a knife to a gun fight? Knives are up close and personnel Guns make it easy to be brave. I will take my chances against a knife before a gun any day.

In most states, carrying a knife with a blade of more than 3" is illegal unless you are hunting.

As far as guns go, I carry mine open anytime I leave the house, and I leave it in the car when I go places that don't allow firearms. (Casinos are on that list! lol)

OH...And I carry a .44 magnum with 240gr JHP because I don't want any doubts when I hit something with it. And, I practice with it twice/month. One time I use a box of Special rounds and the other time I use a box of magnum rounds.

The casino is where you might need to have a gun. Those guys are big time robbers. Funny thing is on the news a few months ago they showed people at the state capitol carrying all sorts of weapons. One had an AK-47. That was legal. But if I had a four inch pocket knife in my pocket I could be arrested?
I got a rolling stop ticket a few weeks ago on a dark side street after midnight. Four blocks away the busy street was full of drunks and not one cop in site. It took 10 minutes to write the ticket and not one car came by in all four directions. It is a strange world.

The only thing I do at a casino (other than bowl) is play in Poker Tournaments. The house only makes money on the administration fees. The rest goes to the prize pool. So if I put in $65 and walk out with $400 plus, I'll take that profit all day and night long! lol
