There will be a $8,000 UBA tournament Labor Day weekend at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando. Bowl Florida usually runs a tournament that weekend in the $6-8,000 range as well and about 4-5 miles apart. Great chance to hit both as their semi finals are scheduled to be able to do both. Qualifying for UBA will be Friday through Monday morning and finals Monday afternoon. As long as Bowl Florida runs, it's usually qualify Friday through Sunday and finals Monday morning.

The two host hotels for the weekend are running $95 a night. I know one is a Holiday Inn Express but I don't recall what the other was. The Holiday Inn is about 3/4 of a mile from Boardwalk.

Once I get the flyer for both ill post them.

EDIT to add flyer and link:

So the "other" tournament organization has since closed up so this will be the only one that weekend that I have found out about.

Anyone in FL or even GA going? I leave that Friday morning to head down to catch the Friday squads.

Was high qualifier in the first squad of the tournament and got my auto cut to the semis. Then bowled the 11 pm squad for brackets and didn't do too bad bracket wise considering I took a drop 3rd game. Next time I have to bowl will be the semis Monday evening.

12:40am and finally home... 90 people went to the semis. I made the next cut to top 20 seeded 16th. Had one more game and moved up to 11th where I finished. All in all a good weekend financially between brackets and tournament itself..

On a more depressing note, a friend of mine and fellow bowler from my city passed away after bowling Sunday night of a heart attack while at this hotel. He was only 48 which goes to show you that tomorrow is never a gurantee.

Congrats on the great bowling, and sorry to hear about your friend. That's terrible.

Link to scores? Your scores?

Not sure if all the scores are posted but I averaged 194.428 for the 7 games that actually mattered (qualifying, semis, extra game after making top 20) . Hit a bad pair the 3rd game of semis and only shot 164. Take that game out and I was just under 200 at 199.5.

Then around the same for my 9 games I bowled for brackets. (I don't keep my score book for these squads)

Guess I never mentioned the shot lol (people are probably like dang those scores aren't great ha)

It was a 45' high volume, sport shot compliant pattern.

It had 2 distinct lines you could play. You could go down and off the gutter with a heavy sanded ball (if you had the hand) or you could go up 10-14 (depending on hand/ball).. My line was laying down at 12 with my breakpoint at 10. This seemed to give me the most room to miss a couple boards inside and maybe 1-1.5 outside and still atleast get close to pocket (to avoid big splits)
