Sport league is killing me

I shot a whopping 631 tonite for 4 games. 7 strikes total, 5 in game 4. Plenty of practice on my 10 pins, which I covered them all. More pocket leaves and pocket spits than I thought capable. I took game 3 and tried multiple lines and multiple balls. Ended up shooting 108 that game. I didn't try to shoot any spares as I was trying to find a way to hit the pocket.
This gave me my best game, a 189 with an open 10th frame and my only win with my DV8 Ruckus Schizo. Now tomorrow we start a new pattern, Alcatraz. Never got to practice this one so going in blind. Can't do much worse.

When you did get to the pocket was it coming in flat?

We change our pattern each league night with no repitition. How often does your pattern change?

It changes every three weeks. Tonite it's Autobahn or Alcatraz, I forget which. Last night was one of those nights. Ringing 10 followed by a flat 10 followed by a pocket 7-10 followed by a 4-9 split followed by a stone 8. Lost count on my 10 pins but picked them all up. Even when I crossed over and hit Brooklyn I left a 10 pin.

I tried 5 different balls and 20 different lines to the pocket. Just couldn't carry

We got new Brunswick Anvil Pro lanes this year. Your carry sounds like what I have left all year. Lowest averages I have had since the late 70's. I passed on the pba summer league that changes every week.

Hopefully it doesn't continue. Same pattern multiple weeks would be nice. We had Wolf (32') two weeks ago. I tried playing outside like you're suppose to for 2 1/2 games. Then I made a 35 board jump left just to hit 500 for the night. That Friday it was the practice shot, I started deep and stayed there for a 650.

You know it's a 10 pin night when even the brooklyns leave 10s

I need to sacrifice something to the God of Strikes or something. We played Autobahn last night. I've never played or practiced on it before. I found a line early with my DV8 Ruckus Feud that I took down to a 180 Abralon finish on my spinner. I have a low rev rate and I'm able to hold my speed pretty well and I was all over the pocket. Just couldn't carry.
Barely any 10 pins last night. Covered them all. Went thru my arsenal I brought with me to see what it could do. Great look with Ruckus Feud and Melee Cross. Everything else too shiny with higher finishes. I left 8's and 9's and 4's all night. I may change my Vintage Rhino Pro to a lower finish and see what it does with just some compound on it.

I guess one thing I'm happy with is my spare shooting has improved over the short season. The only thing hurting me are the strange leaves, like big washouts, 2-8-10's, and pocket 7-10's. Really thinking I'm going to be bored with the house shot this coming season
