What model bowling ball that a company makes several versions of is the best ever? Could it be the IQ line by Storm?

If I'm going newer storm I would say Iq, if It's old school storm I would say the trauma line. C300 antics line is good.

According to Steve Kloempken of Storm the most popular ball that they sold the highest number of was the Storm Virtual Gravity.

Ooo the trauma line... I think that's when storm really hit the map with reactive balls.

Id say that's the best single ball storm has put out, but I think the one that followed flooped (virtual energy)

Single balls, Virtual Gravity or Hy-Road. Hy-Road has by far had the longest shelf life

But which Hy-Road? the original ones or the later production ones?

The Hy-Road line is good, but there are some who like the originals just a little better.

From Storm I would say the IQ's for a line but as far as a single ball the Hy-Road (original hybrid) wins hands down. From Motiv I would say either Venom or Primal line From Hammer it's a toss up between the Widows/Taboo's (gas mask core) and rhe Vibe/Viral. From Columbia it's anything with the Resurgance core

If you look at re-introductions, the Storm mid-line has got to take the prize. While I have forgotten some of the incarnations, I believe it started with the Fast and the Furious, came back as the Frantic and the Manic, again as the Too Fast and Too Furious, the Freakin Frantic, all the way through the latest Rocket Series.

I have a 2Fast that is by far my favorite ball. When all else fails I go to my benchmark, the 2 fast. Matter of fact I like it so much I started looking for a spare 2 Fast when I came across a Frantic and a Manic. I bought them both now I will have the same ball in Pearl, Hybrid and Solid.

Virtual energy is Definatly the lesser known. But it's the first ball I got maybe a year after I came out. Since then I've gotten two other balls, but the old virtual energy is still my go to

I have a Sky rocket and the 2 fast and just realized I had been carrying 2 of the same ball around. They both have the same exact cover stock and the RG and Differential are spot on. Guess my daughter in law gets my skyrocket

The Virtual Energy was a good ball just too strong for most house shots back then.

Maybe my VE just didn't work for me. It was drilled the same as my VG but never worked out. Ended up getting another VG and using the lane layout and polishing it and that worked out a lot better.

Two questions beg to be asked:

1. If you are going to give one away, why give away the new one and keep the old one?
2. Instead of giving one away, why not radically change the surface on one?

It's too strong on some nights, or on the back end of the night sometimes still. But I usually feel more comfortable adjusting with the ball rather than switching most times. Just used to it and can't seem to get away from the thing lol

2. Instead of giving one away, why not radically change the surface on one?

1) the 2fast is the ball I use the most ..very predictable when all else fails it will get me to the pocket
2) I have as I said acquired the Frantic and the Mantic so I'll have the solid, Hybrid and the Pearl of the NOS core . these I intend to play with the surfaces to see the reaction on my home lanes. LOL I have 12 balls that's why I was giving away the sky rocket (besides they can't afford upgraded equipment. I already gifted a Crux , First Blood, Score and a Rhino)

I won't be buying any new balls for a while now that I see that everything old is new again with a new name. So just use what I have and play with surface changes.

Because the sky rocket smells better lol it is odd they were in a different line when they were out. The Sky Rocket is "thunder" and the 2fast was "hot"

Brunswick's Nirvana line isn't too shabby either.

The original is great for heavy oil, but tends to lose some energy.

The Ultimate is great for medium to heavy oil and is ALL energy.

The Absolute is great for medium to heavy oil, but has more hook to it than the DV8 Grudge which is no small task.

While they all have the same core, the coverstocks are different. But they are all monsters!

I don't know that we've seen enough from the Nirvana line to start talking about it as one of the greats yet. In my opinion the OG Nirvana is one of the better balls released in a while, the Ultimate didn't really seem to add much to me, We have an Absolute at the proshop now but I haven't seen one roll yet but I have high expectations for that one. I think you can make a lot more arguments for the Mastermind line than you can the Nirvana line.
