Just got in a pair of Brunswick TPU-X's yesterday. Got them off of eBay for $66. Now I get to play with heels and slide pads and see what real shoes are like. Three years in cheapo ambidextrous shoes are enough. They are officially retired

that's my next move, My shoes are old and heavy. I'd take anything right now.

These are heavier than my cheap pair, but they are really comfortable. Very well padded inside. Well made too.

I know when I get a new set I'll have to go high end mine slide just right new ones don't till you break them in. In the words of my fellow Okie "ain't nobody got time for that!"

I wished I had the option of high end shoes and non-ambidextrous ones. Unfortunately my feet didn't get the memo that they were supposed to grow at least a little bit further than they did so I'm stuck in kids size 5 so basically 1 size smaller than when choices in shoes actually come into play.

I just picked up some 3g's which I love. I drag my right toe and need something with a toe guard which it provides. The new Dexter Retro's are pretty sweet as well. Congrats on the new shoes!

is there anything decent out there for like 50.00? I've seen shoes on the market for that but have no idea if they are any good. I have issues with putting my weight on my heel, so nothing slides even with a shoe slider on it. Size 10, at this point I'd even consider used ones in good shape

I bought a pair of Brunswick Stealths on eBay. They sell them for $60-70. Comfortable and can replace heal and slider pad, but it doesn't come with other pads. I liked them, but I d at my toe and it wore down there quickly.

I just looked on e bay, there are so many to choose from, from 30.00 to 150.00. the 30.00 ones are more my speed. I do not think I need interchangeable soles since I only bowl in one house. I just need something with a slicker heel and lighter weight then my old Dexters. I actually bought mine from a flea market for 10.00 a few years back when I thought I was going to start bowling again.

I still use Dexter Turbos ($30). Better then the basic Ricky shoes and so far so good.

To be honest I'm more of a planter so can't help you there.

It's amazing how much the prices of bowling shoes differ. My old pair were $20 and I got three years out of them. They're still useable. My new ones retail for around $120 to $200 depending on who is selling them. You don't have to spend a ton to get great shoes.

Just to update, I finally got to use my new Brunswick TPU-X's. These shoes are more comfortable than any running shoe I've ever owned. I never knew until today what is was like to be able to drive into the slide step with power. I've always used ambidextrous shoes and never had that power step. It added 1.5 mph to my shot without any extra effort.
I did switch the slide foot brake heel to a felt heel for more slide. It was really sticky because of the humidity. People next to me poured a pile of baby powder under the scorer's table and constantly stepped in it all morning. I made sure it got cleaned up before I left because they didn't bother.
