Sorry to hear that.
While I should probably not bowl during the summer, I undoubtedly will again. And I do so because practicing is not my forte.
I bowl Mon, Wed & Fri, and quite a few 9 Tap Tour tournaments on the weekends, so the couple of day's I don't bowl gives my body a chance to recover a little. With a sour back, knee, shoulder & gout, the short breaks work out very well.

Nope. I was going to drop to one league over this summer, but wound up bowling two summer leagues and re-upping for a league that goes for 48 weeks. Busy summer!

There is a roughly 2 month break between the end of my spring/summer league and beginning of fall league. I usually don't bowl at all during that break except for a few practice games the last week.

1 summer league. Would love to bowl in a second but 30+ a week is all I can budget.

I don't typically do leagues over the summer as I pick up a lot of tournaments. I will usually sub throughout the summer though

I wish I could, but the way my bank account is set up the checking goes into the savings and I can only afford 1 of 2 of the expensive hobbies i enjoy . So golf becomes the sport of choice.
I take the summer off, I just can't stand being inside bowling when it's nice outside, would like to play some more golf, fish, boat...it's a good thing I live where we have a cold snowy winter or I might not have ever started bowling!

It's always nice here in Vegas! But being outside too long at 105+ degrees might convince you to be inside more often. lol

Very much so. I can breathe when I step outside in the summer. Humidity levels here during the day are anywhere from 5%-15%.

Not anymore approaches are too tacky. One bad plant and knee or hamstring could get hurt. Also old body need time to rest up for the next season. Vacation time is nice too.

I know when I lived in south Miami the humidity down there was terrible also but I
did love living almost right on the beach just a stones throw from the ocean maybe
that is why the humidity was so high.

I bowled a lot this summer. 50-60 games a week.

Short answer--no. Long answer, practiced by myself and did two clinics. Worked with my coach every three weeks. Bowled in one sport league as well.

Prefer to bowl all year round - that way I don't have to get my body back to bending, stretching, and my timing stays more intact. Also, typically use my Friday morning league to implement some changes I want to work on and/or getting to know what ball is capable of doing what on certain conditions. Summer always seems to have more varying conditions due to the extreme heat, fans, then some humidity, and then back to dry. Also, the alley sometimes changes the conditioner/oil that they use for the summer. On Mondays, it's more competitive, so not so much practicing/playing around. Use this one for focus/concentration practice. And flex league bowls 24 weeks off 2-4 weeks and then 24 weeks, so not really summer- more like May to October/December to April
I even hate to miss 10 days when we do vacation, as it seems my body takes forever to get back into the swing of things.

I started bowling in 2005. Bowled leagues year round since although here the summer leagues aren't sanctioned so the high school kids can bowl.
